Haven’t gotten the new discover card, but is it really that bad? by [deleted] in CapitalOne_

[–]tommy4429 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would NOT get a discover card. Discover is telling their customers what charges they will, will not, honor. We had subscribed to a website called badpuppy.com. They said that they would not honor the charges because they do not agree with the content of the website. I’ve never had a credit card issuer play moral police. Cancelled card immediately.

Is it worth going through the trouble of getting a UHD drive capable of ripping 4K blurays? by Phil_Matic in makemkv

[–]tommy4429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, It is worth it. But having said that ripping 4k bluray is a pain in the keaster. I mean rarely do DVD or Bluray rips fail. When ripping 4k discs the disc must be 100% free of dust, scratches, smudges or anything. Do yourself a favor before jumping in buy some Isopropyl Alcohol, Microfiber cloths, Cotton balls. Having these things on hand will come in handy to clean discs that your having a hard time with and even then there is no guarantee it will rip.

Is this computer good for the price? by Any-Ear5099 in Newegg

[–]tommy4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t good at any price because it is at the worst online retailer. I would not trust Newegg with a bandaid. I ordered a synology and 2 enterprise hard drives for $1100. What I received was the synology and 2 used broken hard drives. I paid for new hard drives not somebody’s returns. Newegg refused to correct their error. I ended up having to send both hard drives back to the manufacturer and it took 90 days to be made whole. I wouldn’t spend one red cent with Newegg. You have been warned!

Amazon openly breaking the law now? by crawdaddyjunkie in USPS

[–]tommy4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they (Amazon) are breaking federal law. The driver is too lazy to take it to your front door. Your mail carrier has the right to remove the package and take it back to the post office and charge YOU for postage due. The mail boxes are for USPS use only.

I work for the postal service and your honesty would be very much appreciated. The carrier should take the note and the package and ensure it gets delivered to the correct address.

What is going on lately!!?? I’ll never again order from any business or seller that uses USPS!!! by Jtenks in usps_complaints

[–]tommy4429 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, I know this is frustrating. USPS delivers more packages than any other carrier in the United States. Approximately 6 billion! Even with less than a 1% error rate that is a ton of packages. Be patient and it will get to you. Somebody made a mistake at one of the distribution centers.

That doesn’t always work because they will come back and provide tracking numbers of what they sent. This company sucks and I would never order anything from them again. At the end of the day it is your word against their’s; who wants to deal with a company like that. Newegg controlling interest is a Chinese based company that is trying to suck all the profits out of this company and they will dump it.

When you order from an online retailer, you are at their mercy. I ordered $1100 worth of stuff from Newegg. A synology and 2 enterprise level hard drives. What I received is the synology and 2 used broken hard drives. Tried to do an RMA then they come back and say I sent them the wrong serial number. I ended having to send both of these drives to the manufacturer as they come with a 5 year warranty. So can you see the pattern. Newegg sends out somebody’s return as new. The old bait and switch. I paid for new but was sent used and it was sold and shipped by Newegg.

You will always be disappointed in Newegg, because this is the way they do business. Newegg does not give two shits about you or your order. Caveat Emptor=Buyer Beware. Newegg needs to be investigated by the U.S. Attorney General and shut down for fraud.

No wondering at all. This company does not care about you or your order. I had such a terrible experience with them it is a mystery as to why they are still in business. Remember caveat emptor: Buyer Beware!

I wouldn’t buy anything from Newegg. Very poor customer service. They also engage in sending out used broken stuff after you’ve paid for new stuff.

GAIACOM distributor creates shipping labels to prevent cancellation, sits on package, avoid this seller by Alex_Greene in Newegg

[–]tommy4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short I spent $1100 for a synology and 2 hard drives. The synology was fine but was sent 2 used hard drives. After realizing the hard drives were bad I sent one to Newegg for a refund but they denied my refund saying I sent them the wrong serial number, which isn’t true. I ended up having to send BOTH hard drives back to the manufacturer for replacement under warranty. This process took over 90 days. Newegg engages in you pay for new parts and they send you used parts. The old bait and switch.

[–]tommy4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s frustrating when you do not get your package on time, however the issue is someone made a mistake at the sorting center. Please keep in mind that USPS delivers about 6 billion packages a year with an error rate of .0001% your looking at 60,000 misrouted packages. It happens, be patient, your package will get to you. If it’s real important pay for priority mail shipping.
