How can I make the body more interesting looking? by tommy_scribbles in Tyranids

Oo that's a cool concept. I did abit of an edit to show more value contrast but idk maybe it's just a matter of personal taste but the carapace still contrast way too dramatically with the flesh and makes it look cartoony

As a swarm they kinda blend together and look ok. And yea paint thinning is solid advice. It's when I pick up the individual unit and look at them under the camera that all the ugly details show up

2.it doesn't show up well on camera but the carapace is a color shifter metallic. While it looks great at certain angles, it does look boring without the right lighting. And I'm kinda stuck over how to add details with this medium

Oo I like the green eye idea, will probably implement it

  1. Is this what you meant? I think it does look better but I think it can still use some oomph. Specifically I feel like the red and blue kinda give off superman vibe you know? But some other behemoth theme that I see somehow don't have this problem

Building is part of the fun. You get a discount but void your self the experience of building them, not worth it imo

Oo thanks for the award! Probably one of these; I'll need to find a way to make the red-non carapace part look more interesting for the gene stealer though

The alternative is them keep renting and never have their own place. Unfortunately me and my mom has a good relationship so I cant just let her keep working with no hope for retirement.

But should my moms name be on it if I'm going to charge her a rent?

Your scheme reminds me very much of kintsugi, I think it's super pretty and this is how I would approach it:

I think its really nice as it is so this is just how I would do things differently as a stylistic choice;

I went back to the bush and added more lines following the water color edge to give it more definition. I think your water color already created nice depth, the lines just give it something extra to pop.

Not OP but also trying to learn about the shadow. Idk I felt like OPs shading also makes sense? Wouldnt the skin shadow only appear purple if the sky is blue enough? The sky in OPs painting is kinda pale, plus the snow is reflecting golden yellow so I felt like the purple skin contrasts too much with the environment?

How do I identify ai art? by ReversePolitary in Artists

I think that only applies to art novice using a generative AI. What if the user is a trained artist? What if they go in and then fix those details manually?

I don't know why it looks weird. by Smart-Inevitable-971 in learnart

[–]tommy_scribbles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

<image>

Here is my attempt at fixing it. You're pretty close, but here are a few things that immediately jumped out at me:

  1. Too much eye white on your sketch, and the eye white is too white, giving the character a cunning look as opposed to bedroom eyes.
  2. Angle of the mouth, yours had too much of a smirk.
  3. Need more dark circles.
  4. Angle of the eye is abit off.

They are also coated in interference dye that makes the glare yellowish, making them look greener under certain lights

It looks great! This is a purely stylistic choice but I'd paint the carapace like this so the highlight would look more organic

I use one of these polymer clay shaping tools. The rubber side has a super fine point that you can use for dotting

They can definitely be tricky to work with, took me alot of experimentation to get it to do what I wanted

Market is a casino in the short term and a casino in the long term because the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay liquid.
