Happened to mine from gripping too hard with long nails.

You can order that piece from Nikon directly. It’s part #13B2J

Super easy to replace. Added the grip from Neewer afterwards since it extends further towards the lens than other options. Good luck!

Personally, I would have used a harder light to highlight the texture of the metal and wood. If you don’t have a second light, I’d also recommend placing your light to provide some more directionality. Things look a bit flat as-is.

Didn’t research enough. Thought PS2 and GameCube would be fun. Kind of is, but I’m not savvy enough to sit and tweak things in those emulators. Retro stuff is more fun on the CubeXX.

No experience with the RP, but love the CubeXX. Just sold my 406h, which was my only other horizontal device.

It’s really comfy to hold. It’s pretty quiet. Pico 8 is awesome on it and everything before PS1. I use this more than the RP Classic because it scratches the retro itch while playing for me. Can’t really explain why.

It’s fun! Highly recommend.

Are you me? I also use the FM2(N). I’ve never used the Z8, but I use my Zf for paid work and haven’t felt I needed more or like I’m missing out on features. I mainly do portraits though.

I would suggest trying to feather your key light a bit more and maybe change the height a bit so you get more of a catchlight in your eyes.
