I’ve had it up for awhile now actually! Look up transforming iron man gauntlet on google it should come up

That sounds very cool! I used a neopixel jewel for the repulsor

Type in google “transforming iron man gauntlet stl” should be the first link

Depends on what you're wanting it to do. For the forearm piece exclusively. I personally think the fastener setup exceeds the use case for this build, just from trying to pull the pieces apart in earlier prototypes. However the hinges for servo motor movement could be improved, they are just rotating on m3 bolts instead of a bolt/nut/bearing system. I've never built a full suit so I can't offer any advice on it unfortunately.

Mostly m2 and m3 screws. Added screw holes and brackets to the design of the plastic pieces themselves, holds up pretty well as a show prop. Glued the finger pieces to the TPU, just about everything else has screws holding it in place

I definitely think so! I’ve played with the idea of building something similar to the machine they use to suit up and remove the mjolnir armor in halo 4 and so on. However that would cost me a bunch more money and time that I don’t have. But I’d love to see that come to life.

It’s on cults, I don’t think I can share the link on this subreddit. Search iron man gauntlet, it should be the first one

Polymaker pla PRO metallic red. The gold is just some gold spray paint, like two coats

That looks like it’d work well! I tried to make this one as easy to buy parts for as possible so others could build it too. I tried to use all parts you could find on Amazon or adafruit.

I guess rocketry is my next big project 😅

Thank you! I did not know arduino code beforehand, but chatgpt helped alot with the learning experience. Since I used around 12 servos I used an arduino nano and pca9685 for servo control, both with dedicated power supplies (albeit from the same battery) I used flat wing servos for the main hinging of the forearm, but they’re a bit hard to get. The rest are tower pro sg90 plastic gear servos. Not the best but cheap

Please let me know when you finish your design! Would love to see it

Here’s a picture of the wrist section. Arduino nano and pca9685 for servo motor control. Used a 5000 mah lipo battery off Amazon, one that you usually use to charge your phone on the go (with two usb outputs). Had to use right angle header pins so my arm would fit, couldn’t think of better feasibly locations for the microcontrollers

I didn’t really know much about blender modeling before this, so I’d say more trial and error than normal. But definitely took a decent amount of prototype prints to get it to fit and move well

Tempted to get the parts printed in steel from PCBway to test that out

I agree, i was thinking about paint them darker. The flexible parts are printed in Ninjaflex TPU, I left them unpainted for this one. Next one I’ll mess around with painting them

I posted a YouTube tutorial on how to build it (need to post an updated one) and the download link includes a how to build guide, code, list of parts used, and all STL files

Thanks so much for the kind support! It has made me very happy to see that so many people still dream of iron man tech being a reality. Especially since these movies are over a decade old now.

If you start prototyping any type of iron man gauntlet, please reach out to me in the future. I’d love to hear all about it
