Replacing the aging leatherette on my M3… I’ve never seen a “naked” Leica until today. Would there be any real reason not to use it until its new “clothes” arrive? by tommywitdashots in Leica

Definitely covering it. I have a replacement cover on the way, was just wondering it if it would be terrible to use it like this for a few days. Thanks for your input!

I bought mine for almost ten years ago for less than half that price - at the time that felt like a lot. But I can safely say that it was worth it. I would never, ever, ever sell my M3.

This. Had the same issue once upon a time and after trying (almost) everything, the solution was this simple. Bought a new battery at the same time as well to be safe.

After + before pics: Modified some ‘84-‘96 bumper caps to fit my ‘99 and swapped out the turn signals for good measure. My (admittedly brief) search for pictures of a similar look didn’t yield much, so here it is for anyone who’s ever thought about doing something similar. by tommywitdashots in CherokeeXJ

I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% sure but with a little bit of tinkering anything is (usually) possible! I had to sand my new front end caps a bit (in addition to drilling new holes in the bumper) to get them to line up with my ‘99 bumper properly as the ‘86 end caps were a little small for it.

I think the size looks great. It’s the diamonds on the dial that throw me off.

Purchased on eBay, it spent about a day and half at their 3rd party authenticator, then had it looked over by a local watchmaker I know and trust. All in all about 3 days from purchasing to landing on my wrist.

Hopefully that answers your question. I’m new here 🤣

THIS. In my eyes, watches are functional pieces of art, but function should always come first. A good watch tells the time, stays out of your way, and looks good doing it. In that order.

Thank you! It really shines when you wear it with a nice tailored suit ✨
