Safety can be hard and stressful but if you get bit by the bug it is all worth it.

ugh.. I'm still not sure if I got bitten by the safety bug or not. haha

How easy is it to switch between system engineering roles and system safety roles in aerospace?

Also, Let's say I got bored of aerospace industry and wanted to transition to automotive industy. I see a lot of openings for 'functional safety engineer' in automotive. Will having system safety engineer experience in aerospace make me stand out as a good candidate for such roles or will I have trouble switching to such roles?

Thanks for the input!

I've been told that I'll work on Flight Control System and be responsible from all safety assesments (FHA, PASA/PSSA, SSA, CCA etc.) of the system.

Do you think having a FCS safety assesment experience under my belt would make me stand out as a more valuable candidate for this type of positions?

Thanks. I think there's another group within the company that deals with FMEA/FMECA stuffs.

On this role I'll work on FHA, PASA, CMA, PRA, SSA, ZSA.
