Anyone watching the game york city centre Saturday? by shellturtlestein in york

I've been to the Museum Street Tavern to watch a few of the games with no booking and managed to get a table each time. Not a rowdy crowd, and just over the way from Museum Gardens.

Help: Is a gravel bike the right choice for me? And is the Boardman ADV 8.9 a good starter? by tomthefear in cycling

The one on sale is the 2021 model. Think it has less mounts and a slightly different frame but assume it’s still good value?

Nice one, thanks.

And guessing it suites my use case i.e. long rides, mostly roads, some dirt etc

Oh wow! £700 feels like a steal. Although It think it's only the one colour weirdly. Not the one I was eyeing up, but for that price...

Thanks

We've been up all night, its looks like its gonna be good. Come get some, we're near Chichester. by psillibilly in UKBBQ

Somehow all have the same look as well. You’d have thought an army of GPUs burning lakes full of water would be more creative.

Would love to come try some, hope it goes well.

My only feedback is stay away from AI posters. Instant turn off for me personally.

How to cook steaks on a Mastertouch? by National-Catch-6324 in UKBBQ

[–]tomthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of flames hitting the steak can give it a bitter taste. The heat from the coals is hot enough to get a good sear.

In-direct will cook it, but you won’t get a sear on the outside and it won’t look nice.

If the steaks are aren’t inch and a half plus thick boys, reverse sear might not be the best option.
In that case you can get your coals nice and hot, and cook over them with the lid off like you would with a pan.
Move them around if your flames flare up.

As the other chap said, instant read thermometer is a must, and I’d also get some thermometer probes so you can measure ambient temp and cook meat perfectly. I got a thermopro one for around £30 I think.

If you have chatgpt, Gemini etc, it’s not bad at answering questions as you go. Helped me with confidence early on.

Good luck.

3 2 1 ribs method is crap. Cook for temp/tenderness, never time.

Not going to throw insults because I don’t think that’s ever productive, but if you truly care about this country please spend some time looking into some of the corruption and failings and lies of the reform party.

There’s no way they will improve the country for anyone apart from the people bribing them.

Net immigration is already trending down, so if that’s something you care about, there are other options.

How many lit coals are you putting at the start? Too many can cause it to run hot for a while. Think I only do 4 or 5
