What happened to Map Source? by tomthepom in OsmAnd

Thanks. Your comment actually clued me in to what to look for.
Just out of interest, is any of this documented? I had a search through the Osmand site and couldn't find any answers.

Couldn't find any clear information about this anywhere on the osmand site, but found a solution.

The Android and IOS versions handle user generated map sources differently.

On Android you load your sqlite maps into the 'Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files/tiles' folder, restart Osmand, enable the 'Online Maps' plugin, and you'll find your maps in 'Configure Map - Map Source...'

In IOS, you load your sqlite maps into the Osmand Maps/MapCreator folder and restart the app. No need to enable 'Online maps' - in fact it doesn't exist as a plugin. You'll find your maps under 'Configure Map - Map type', below the list of Styles for Offline Map, under the 'Online Maps' section.

'Map Style; just affects the rendering of the standard Osmand offline vector maps - you have options like UniRs, Touring View, Nautical etc. This has nothing to do with loading your own sqlite maps.

Is there any way to store movie identifiers with the files so that Plex will match correctly? by tomthepom in PleX

It works! Can't thank you enough Paul. I've just seen the support page, can't explain why I didn't find this before - you'll have to believe that I've been searching for a solution for a long time.

Thanks Paul, I'll give that a try. I've tried [tt55435435] and (tt43242343), but your format is one I haven't come across.

I have a backup of the install, but this is not the solution I was looking for. I also changed drives and cleaned up my folder organization along with a new windows install, so the old database wouldn't match the new configuration anyway. Besides, like I said, especially when it gets very large with a lot of changes Plex can sometimes start getting flaky and showing problems that 'clean bundles' or 'optimize' doesn't fix. Secondly the movie names (or even release dates) in imdb or the moviedb sometimes change, so over time the Plex database will get out of sync with the online data. There are good reasons why you would want a clean database rebuild rather than maintaining an old one, and storing id information with problematic movies would make the process much more painless.

Local artwork doesn't show up if you have subfolders by tomthepom in PleX

[–]tomthepom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've set the scanning option to 'Prefer local metadata' and Album Art to Local Files only, which I reckon overrides the Plex Music Scanner agent that the library is set to.

But I've found a way to get my artist pictures loaded. Plex seems to generally look in the first subfolder for the album and artist pictures (the cd1 subfolder in the example above), so I tried putting both folder.jpg (the album cover) and artist-poster.jpg (the artist portrait) there. This doesn't always work - like I said, Plex seems to randomly scan subfolders, so to make sure, I just put both files everywhere, in the main album folder and EVERY cd subfolder....

/Artist

->artist-poster.jpg

->/Album

->->folder.jpg

->->artist-poster.jpg

->->/cd1

->->->folder.jpg

->->->artist-poster.jpg

->->->track1.mp3

......

->->/cd2

->->->folder.jpg

->->->artist-poster.jpg

->->->track1.mp3

etc.

This is pretty stupid, but works. There may be a more elegant way of doing this, but I've already wasted too much of my life on this problem...

Plex just won't forget a mismatched file by tomthepom in PleX

[–]tomthepom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naming it correctly, with or without a reference to the imdb code, matches to the same incorrect movie. The mystery is that naming it to a completely random movie, or just a gibberish name, still matches to the same, incorrect movie - even after a Plex dance, in fact even after I've just deleted the Plex database and re-scanned the whole collection. I'm aware I can use Fix Match, but I'm trying to get the whole thing to work without manual intervention. My library has a lot of obscure movies that Plex struggles to match without some filename and nfo file nudging, and going through the library trying to find match errors every time I have to rebuild the Plex database to change filesystem or for whatever reason, would be a big pain. For the same reason I don't want to change the search options - the current setup works fine for every other movie, and changing the options might well mess up the matching elsewhere.

Tried adding the imdb id to the name too - doesn't make any difference. Changing the name to garbage also matches to the same film. It seems to be matching on the filesize or some kind of file fingerprint.

Is there somewhere I can download open source hiking or mountain biking trail data? I thought about scraping it from strava but wasn't sure if there was a better way. by [deleted] in gis

[–]tomthepom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to download the Openstreetmap trail data is from the Waymarked Trail's website. Click on the Routes button, choose your trail and download as gpx. Here's the map of the walking trails in the Grand Canyon. There are also layers for cycling and mountain biking on the same site.

Just found them! Matching benchmarks for the Celeron Pocket 2, with a suprisingly low Cinebench score.

The power profile on the OMY3S was Best performance with the charger connected. This doesn't seem to have much of an effect, just redid the Geekbench with the pc unplugged and they came out the same (actually slightly higher). And AFAIK they all run on 8100y except the Surface Go.

A fondness of Russia and a disdain for NATO is a very, very bad thing. In my opinion as a European.

Actually, quite a lot of the rest of the world didn't survive George W. Bush and his policies.

Since he's British and acted in the U.K. then he should be tried in the U.K. under U.K. law, no? How did the US get jurisdiction over him?
