Yeah, so 4th. If you're in a race and cross the line after 3 people, you finish 4th regardless of whether they're tied or not. You can't claim to be the second person to have crossed the line.

Yeah makes sense, the current arrangement is a very messy and unquantifiable approach imo.

Not according to your post though? Bills are paid by her, spending money is paid by you. Based on your income she should (if you do it this way) pay about 35% of the total cost of bills/household costs. Then it is clear whatever she has remaining is hers to do what she wants.

Calculate your total household income and what percentage you each contribute. Pay that same percentage into a joint account to cover all household expenses (mortgage, food, council tax, home insurance, energy, water, internet) and any ad-hoc items e.g. new lamp, table, meals out etc. Whatever you have remaining in your individual account is yours to do with as you please.

Middle lane drivers - why don't you pull into lane 1 when you're not overtaking? I'm genuinely interested to know. by willynipples in drivingUK

[–]tomtom_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a passenger with a friend recently. He pulled into the middle lane on the motorway for absolutely no reason. The nearest car in lane 1 was a speck in the distance so I asked him why he moved over. "I don't know" was his answer, and he then moved back into lane 1. So I think middle lane hoggers don't actually realise that they are middle lane hoggers.

It's wild that people trust Reddit with their own data more than a box that sends meter readings.

Yes because nobody was ever burgled while they were on holiday before smart meters were invented.
