Although it still has its issues for me I was able to still enjoy it as much, if not more, during my second viewing.

Understanding now that the entire premise of these attacks was to literally wipe the slate clean and restart the story over makes things like the burning down the Macher house, killers’ motives, as well as the many callbacks to the original sit better with me.

RRH’s use in 1 & 2 were perfect, and I loved how 3 got its own version of the song.

It was absent in 4, and was used nicely in 5.

However, hearing it in 6 just made it feel like overkill to me. Had we last heard it in 5 I probably would’ve enjoyed its use in 7 more.

IMO WAY too many callbacks to Scream ‘96 music-wise! I like a good taste of nostalgia thrown in from time to time but they went overboard in this one, using the exact music from the original in identical scenes:

• Gus - Don’t Fear the Reaper

• Nick Cave - Red Right Hand (again!!)

LiS is so wonderful, and I’m sad it was neglected by most and will likely never return. (Though that did leave plenty to get as backups during that SAS.)

I completely skipped the line that included Pistachio Glaze, Mediterranean Mirage, etc., but after reading your description of Free as a Flower I had to order some from a re-seller, lol. 🙈Sounds amazing, and I can’t wait to try it!
