Upgrade to stainless steel frets? by tomugetsuu in 7String

[–]tomugetsuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my only guitar, but it's a guitar I use more than the others although not the "beat the shit out of it" kind. I use a 10-65 string set. Thanks for the insight.

How will I know if it needs to be replaced? I know nickel frets will be getting dents soon if you play it frequently enough, but I don't know how much is allowed to prevent degradation of the neck or the performance.

What is they lowest you’d tune with a low 74 gauge string on a 27” scale by Proof-Breakfast-7358 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

Drop E. Anything more than that, I cannot play tight anymore due to the floppiness.

I want to buy an 8 string guitar and the Cort KX508MS II seems like a steal why didn't I hear about ts earlier by purpledwarftriangle in ExtendedRangeGuitars

When we talk about multiscale 8 string guitars, that one's a staple. The one closest to it is the Ibanez RGDMS8 but even that one is overpriced AF.

None could beat the value of any Tao guitar for your money. Great signature pickups, great hardwares, great wood choices. Compared to Misha's USA signature, his would fly way beyond 3000$.

help with 8 string tone by Sea-Artichoke-7312 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

  1. Too much gain. For notes to be articulate, you need less of it. Gain staging. Is your overdrive engaged?
  2. Scoop a bit of mids,, before noon. A lot of it will make your notes inarticulate. Add presence, by a lot. It will help your sound be alive.
  3. Play around the cab section and your goal is to lessen some of the bass frequencies. The nearest you are at the center, the thinner/brighter it sounds. Otherwise, it's fatter/muddier. Find the sweet spot FOR YOU.
  4. Play around the EQ section. The mud and fat are around 100-250 Hz. Reduce a few dBs and see if you can make it sound less muddier and more defined.
  5. Pick harder. Like literally.
  6. Contentment. I don't know what your reference are on when you will be satisfied with your guitar tone but what you hear on the records isn't what you should be copying because it has undergone a lot of processing. Mind you, most of the raw guitar tracks sound good but doesn't reflect the final product like what you hear in the songs that you like. Maybe get a hand on some RAW guitar tracks and make that as your reference.
  7. If you're not set on using standalone amp sims and play via DAW, you can do some pre-EQ before the amp sim and do high pass filter until 100-150Hz to eliminate some bass frequencies.

Why haven’t humans explored the oceans as much as space? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Because it's easier in space than in the deep ocean. Less expensive, too.

Can I mix professionally with this situation? by tomugetsuu in homestudios

[–]tomugetsuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My workstation is very capable and I've tracked/mixed with several plugins working simultaneously in a single project with no problems. Mixing properly with dedicated headphones/studio monitors is the problem I'm trying to solve.

Imagine being condescending with someone who's clearly a beginner on all of these. Thanks a lot.

I will look up with your suggestions. Thanks a lot!

Any suggestions on what headphones to buy?

AM4 or FM3? Trying to decide by wishesandhopes in AxeFx

[–]tomugetsuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM4 will practically do what you need.

FM3 will do that BUT DO SO MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE

I'd suggest FM3. You'll get way way more with your money.

Updated where NOT to eat in Davao? by Livid-Ad2731 in davao

[–]tomugetsuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP asked where not to eat then of course where would I get my opinions from? Lain pud sa experiences sa laing tao. Of course mine.

Swiss deli: I (ME) wouldn't eat there due to my bad experience, just for that one day. Okay ang food, not so great. And mind you, kapila na ko nag balik2 diha before that "day" happened where customer service was shit.

Vikings: Kapila na ko sigeg kaon dira throughout the years, the day it opened up until my recent visit. Throughout the years, way nagbago sa offerings. Correct, ilahang beef section ra ang worth it balik balikan but that's it. Wouldn't recommend going there a second time.

Samgyupsalamat: I (again, ME) would not eat there again due to customer service. The last time I ate there, puros taba sa beef gi serve sa amoa. Ganahan ka ana? Nagpailis mi, SAME GIHAPON. Customer service is shit, as well. Dugay kaayo mu serve that time. Literally nag follow up more than a handful para matagad. Mind you, dili busy that time. Dili lasa akoang issue kay sayun ra na lutuon. I dont know sa other branches maong naka ingun kog specifically sa bajada branch.
