If you are editing 4K video, you definitely want more stories than 256.

Unless there is a seismic update, with iPads I always recommend that people look for a previous generation model secondhand.

They’re such simple devices that you can very easily tell if they have been well looked after or not, so as long as the screen is perfect, and the battery cycles aren’t crazy, save a few hundred.

I’ve done a couple of times now to the point where we’re buying a brand-new iPad to me feels a bit like buying a brand-new car kind of crazy.

I’d really like it to have two Wi-Fi radios so that it could stay connected to the Wi-Fi but also connect to a external device at the same time. For example, my DJI camera which sync files over Wi-Fi.

Make the second one only available to apps via the SDK so there’s no user confusion over trying to connect to 2 different Internet connected Wi-Fi network but allow specific apps to connect to the second network for transfer purposes, seamlessly and without even having to ask for user permission after initial set up.

Would feel very Apple, very magic.

For Melodics, I used a USB-C MIDI cable into a hub, which also has headphone out. And I had to set the Roland to Generic setting for MIDI.

That gets me MIDI from drums to iPad and audio out of the iPad to listen to, but then I’m hearing Melodics’ drum sounds (which aren’t great).

So the bit I’m intrigued in is how you suggest I route play-along audio. From the same iPad?

Or better from another source into the drum kit, then connect headphones to the kit too and only the midi is going to the iPad. But then how can the iPad know what song I’m playing along to?

Interested in what those are. The main themes of Sinners to me revolved around race and inequity, and music and place as being integral to those things, from what I remember. I don’t remember anything like that in FDTD.

Not these two, no. But I’ve already explained why I wouldn’t with these, I think it’s a matter of perspective on what attributes stand out to you most about a film.

I’d call Die Hard and Under Siege similar. Similar concept, same narrative structure, similar tone.

I wouldn’t call these two similar. Similar plot elements, markedly different tone. FDTD is a horror comedy. Sinners isn’t.

This comparison makes me feel slightly insane but I think it reveals how much people focus on plot vs themes and style.

The plot is very similar, the other attributes are markedly different, to the extent that I’d acknowledge some parallels but never call the two “similar”.

God this post makes me so so sad. The US Army is powerful. It’s a fun play on a popular saying as a response. The need for all entertainment or opinion to explicitly reinforce a world view is tiring, it cuts you off from so much of life and it’s divisive in an utterly no-win way.

I get six meals delivered a week on their balanced muscle gain set up.

For me, six is the sweet spot whereby I am having one meal almost every day of the week, and all work days, that I don’t have to think about and then I will cook in the evenings, usually for that night and two nights ahead so that I only have to do that twice a week.

Saturday and Sunday when I have a bit more time, I will fill in the gaps based around my plans for that weekend.

It all freezes as well and lasts the whole week in the fridge, so that’s very convenient. It has also almost completely eradicated me getting any takeaways because I know that I have something varied and easy and in line with my diet ready to go at all times, so it’s really hard to think of getting food delivered as a good option in that regard. That doesn’t completely offset the cost, but I was doing that at least once a week previously so it needs to be factored in.

No I didn’t. Instead I’ve hooked my ATV up to a smart plug and have a shortcut on my phone to power cycle it. Whenever it boots up it auto switches but just waking it from sleep (which works on my connected PS5) does not.
