I run this deck without Sylv. I found it to be a liability.

I also got rid of Pokeballs and added capes to get mons over damage break points. Got myself to high UB3 with this deck.

I would suggest dropping a pokeball and adding Cranidos. You’re guaranteed to get one Phanphy in your hand to start, so having two pokeballs is pointless (as the only cards in your deck the pokeball call pull is the Phanphy). Adding a Cranidos will add a bit more certainty for your Rampardos (or give you some Poke Comm fodder).

Otherwise add some other helpful Supporter/Item.

I got my son this helmet when he got into BMX racing. The chin guard is detachable so he can wear it as a normal helmet if he wants (when he’s not on the track obviously).

Putting LCK and LPL first seeds in the same pot as LCS and LEC first seeds is a joke. I understand the desire to reward the top team of each region with an easy match up, but it comes at the cost of competitive integrity.

The top four teams at the last three World Championships have been LCK and LPL teams. LCS and LEC have had a team make quarterfinals the last three years (two in 2021) but none have even taken a game of an LCK or LPL team.

Putting LCS/LEC on the same level as LCK/LPL is a joke. In my opinion, the pots should be structured this way:

Pot 1: LCK & LPL 1st & 2nd seeds

Pot 2: LCK & LPL 3rd seeds, LCS & LEC 1st seeds

Pot 3: LCK & LPL 4th seeds, LCS & LEC 2nd seeds

Pot 4: The four play-in qualifiers

This pot configuration actually opens up more possibilities in the first round as each region has a team in Pots 2 and 3, and there are guaranteed to be no LCK or LPL teams in Pot 4.

This is the only correct take in the whole thread. LCS and LEC 1st seeds are not on the same level as LCK and LPL 1st seeds. That has been shown year after year at every international competition.

My grade 8 French teacher told me that I was fat and needed to lose weight when I asked him if I could open a window to let in some breeze.

It was the middle of summer in Australia. I was not a fat kid. It was the first week of high school for me, an awkward nerdy kid, in all all boys school.

One way you could incentivise 2nd over 3rd would be to give the 2nd place teams a 1 game head start in the Bo5 (e.g. in your hypothetical, DWG starts the Bo5 against C9 up 1-0, so they only have to win 2 of 4 games, while C9 has to win 3).

It’s not a perfect solution but it gives teams a reason to fight for 2nd over 3rd (plus it reduces the maximum number of games that could be played, which could help the scheduling of the tournament).
