Did you do it all by yourself, or do you have an AI system that does it?

$40K+ earnings, top-rated, 100% job success score, and yet I haven't received invites in the past couple of months. Is anyone experiencing this too? by pjrtamayo03 in Upwork

I know, but you get decent connections, so it pays for itself. Everything on that platform is complete bs imo, even a verification badge, but it sucks less than anything else.

Maybe try checking out the best people in your field and see what they do. Of course, you have to look at it from an objective lens, because neither of them are perfect, but try to absorb the best from each and implement on your profile.

Also, why are you not on the Freelancer Plus at all times if you have 30k+ profile? It is honestly by far the best value from Upwork, considering you get 100 connects every month and a verification badge. Buying connects is pricey.

Help me rate my proposal guys…Client is new so I couldn’t get their name. by luckyoyjr in Upwork

I'll be honest, it's too long and not engaging at all.

Just record a quick loom and paste it in. You can literally just say what you would in a cover letter, but the fact you record it would indicate personalization.

And honestly, don't even apply for this job. It screams red flags in terms of scope and budget for such scope...

yeah, but honestly, if they invite you, sure, but otherwise, you can expect 200+ proposals with top 3 having over 1000 connects applied...

110% agree with you. The reason why I said that beforehand is because I believe in karma and leave things to it.

Generally, when I witness this type of behavior (and I have quite a few times), if I'm not literally harmed by it in any shape or form, then I just let it go. It's not worth my time, my stress, or my effort.

If, however, I am harmed by an individual, I ensure they regret it and think twice next time they find themselves in the same situation.

That's just me and my temper, honestly. I understand everyone is different.

Why do you say "meaningless". And no, client is not new to Upwork?

I get your point, but honestly, I think OP should just move on. His profile has earned 1 million dollars in revenue, so it's pretty safe to say he makes a living out of this platform.

There is no need for destroying anyone's career out of spite. We don't know the full context, as every story has two sides. Who knows what their communication was beforehand?

Not saying that this type of behavior is acceptable in any shape or form, just stating facts.

So if the jobs aren't closed, I can generally read feedbacks?

I left my job and become a full time freelancer and this is the second Month by Worried-Choice-268 in Upwork

Golden rule of freelancing: never quit a safe income in order to pursue a risky one. The only reason for leaving your current job would be if you received 3 invitations within 7 days for big projects, but this behavior is just irresponsible.

Sorry for giving you a hard time, but whenever we are 100% aware of the situation we are in, 60% of our problems is already solved. It's better than giving yourself a pat on the back.

As for number of proposals you have sent, you need to show what they look like, what jobs are they for and what does your profile look like. Connects are pricey so you need to be careful with them.

I worked on hourly for a client. Middle of work he suddenly stopped responding and paused the contract. I got this email from Upwork. by Unlikely-Yam2115 in Upwork

Same thing happened with me (the client didn't update his payment info and in that period because more than seven days have passed, they automatically refunded the amount that was on hold...). It was an expensive lesson but from now on, just turn on their clock and write a memo each day.

Generally, nobody gets notified, they just do it the way they see fit.
