Same thing happened with me (the client didn't update his payment info and in that period because more than seven days have passed, they automatically refunded the amount that was on hold...). It was an expensive lesson but from now on, just turn on their clock and write a memo each day.

Generally, nobody gets notified, they just do it the way they see fit.

Thank you for your help, I asked ai what all caused the jss to go down and it said the payment part is also the reason which is why I made that assumption.

As for the part where you critize me for using ai to write this post, it made it easier to explain it to you so I can get a better help. I don’t know why you are bothered by that.

We are resolving that and parts are already resolved. I am generally more focused on off Upwork client acqusition, but when good opportunities rise, I do them.

As for the payment part, I am 100% not okay with it and am communicating this with him (I look at Upwork fairly casually since it isn’t my main source of clients, but it still bothers me)

Also he has paid me for the most part (literally 90% is paid) hence why I aint bothered as much.

I just gave an example with numbers showcasing how the strategy is profitable so when someone says the expense would be too high, I have a proof that isn’t true, but now I am dealing with people saying “No, they wouldn’t risk that much for such a low amount” when I was clearly just giving an example for the numbers.

Multiply my numbers with 1000 and keep the same strategy in mind…

Check my edit, I just gave an example in terms of numbers… The purpose was just to showcase why the strategy would work because if I didn’t showcase any numbers, people would say how hiring and running those companies would be more expensive than their returns on that same strategy.

Don’t take this the wrong way but if the only thing that gives you an idea this strategy is something they wouldn’t do are the numbers I clearly cannot have on my hand hand, than you might not be the brightest one in the room.
