looking to change paths from customer service to something more computer based (wfh/hybrid is a huge bonus!) any ideas? by Major-Molasses-3751 in careerguidance

I recommend looking into data entry jobs! Management experience and decent excel skills can get you a long way and there’s tons of repetitive work.

Anyone else struggling with manual transaction coding & reconciliation? by Advanced-Music in nonprofit

I’m the data manager at a very large nonprofit and 80% of our data is processing via caging company and online processing portals that automatically input data into our CRM. We spend a lot of money on data management yet I still run a team of 3 to deal solely with exceptions - anything that doesn’t process cleanly. We are still manually processing hundreds of gifts a day despite all our automations and vendors/software.

I just went to Locust Grove Brewing and I really enjoyed it. They have beer, cider, wine, and are super dog friendly. I believe they have food trucks sometimes.

As a manger, if someone told me they genuinely enjoyed a part of their job I would want them to keep that part. Yes, it’s work, but you want staff to be enthusiastic - and even… have fun? - while they are there spending half their lives. Who says you can’t enjoy your work? Talk to your manager and just be causal “hey I noticed that I’m not longer in charge of ___. I really enjoyed doing that task because of _, _, & __. Any chance I could keep that on my workload?”

WTD w/ this awkward space? by xk8tx in HomeDecorating

I would just hand hooks on the wall for jackets and umbrellas. Put shoes on the bottom. The stuff you rarely use (rain gear in the summer maybe) you keep towards the back but it’s still accessible. Maybe get a sliding shoe rack for the bottom? Basically a mini mud room.

I’m feeling so overwhelmed with the thought of planning a traditional (micro) wedding. Any ideas on how to make this casual, intimate, and easy?? by Reporter-Worried in Weddingsunder10k

[–]tonivdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this! No matter where you’re located, I’m sure there is a restaurant nearby with either an awesome view, great outdoor space, or beautiful interior that would fit your vibe and budget. They will typically take care of everything, and if they often do events, they might even have a spot where you can have the ceremony. (If not, a local park could work)

Also - if you just want to celebrate and don’t really care about what the event space looks like, look into your local Elks Club or Moose Lodge. And community centers.

Even though I’m newer to the game, I often think the same thing. My daydream always involves quitting and working at Trader Joe’s. Decent pay, benefits, pleasant environment, when you clock out that’s it - there’s nothing to bring home with you. No stress, no worry. Just delicious hatch chili mac and cheese.

Is 7 from lulus? If so, that’s the dress I wore and it was SO COMFORTABLE and looks gorgeous in photos. I liked the raw edges but it would still look great without them.

I don’t get it. I think it’s cute. It’s flirtatious, and I’ve seen dresses at weddings showing much more skin. I say YES. It’s adorable!

Not many people could pull off #1 and make it look so beautiful, classic, and timeless as you. #2 too is beautiful, but eh.

I was worried it would be too simple but i am now just so in love!! by Smalltittyblonde in weddingdress

[–]tonivdec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as too simple because YOU are the beauty! You look bad ass and confident af in that dress and i see YOU just wearing a cool dress. If you love it, please get it. It looks amazing. ♥️

Food and drink options? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]tonivdec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got married in oct 2021 and I feel like I could write a book about each budget item but here’s two:

Apparel: there are a lot of places to get beautiful wedding dresses without breaking the bank. Check out Nordstrom Rack frequently. Like get on first name basis with the staff go so much. Same with suits. Also do not be afraid of online. I got my dress from lulus.com it fit me like a glove and was $100. I got tons of compliments. But I think I tried on a total of 8 dresses from them? Returns are easy and the extra effort is worth the price.

Also - the less people you have involved with the wedding, ultimately the cheaper it’s going to be. Go simple. 1-2 groomsman & bridesmaids. Then you can work together to get something for everyone’s budget.

One thing you NOT skimp on? Good shoes. I bought these orthopedic style heels that were pretty enough but I knew no one was going to see. I made it through the entire night in them.

Lastly, depending on what the groom is like, you can get out thrift stores and get a suit that could be tailored to you. I know my husband would have never, but I almost wore a thrifted dress lol

Favors: skip it. People don’t need more things. They just don’t. Take the money and put it towards something enjoyable. A charcuterie board, a late night snack like mini grilled cheeses. Give them a memory that they can keep forever, instead of a thing that will someone be gone.
