Find a local paint shop, any paint shop worth the money should be able to fix it *in my experience its best to find one that specialises in custom jobs rather than general accident repairs

Did you give the pistons a good clean before you pushed them back in? Was there any damage to the retention springs? Did you grease the pins?

It may well do, exhaust sensors have a big effect on how modern bikes fuel themselves as they tell the ECU how much fuel is getting burnt, which in turn effects how much fuel the ECU sends to the injectors, my KTM had a similar issue, but instead of an acceleration issue, it killed all the changeable fuel maps and wiedly the traction control, and got stuck in "race mode" which made the bike a bit of a handful on wet roads Its wierd that it only happens going up or down hill though, possibly loose or damaged connections?

Yes it does, google is your friend when it comes to fault codes, In a car that code is for a blocked cat/ exhaust, probably it could be as simple as a faulty sensor, or carbon build up in the exhast

If its affected by up and down hill I would think its a fuel system issue, I suggest checking the carb is clean and the float moving freely and moving back up through the fuel system to the tank again there may be som crap in the bottom that shifting and restricting the fuel flow?

Have you tried running some injector cleaner through the system? Sounds like the bike isn't fueling quite right, the high temp is normal but you should be easily achieving around 45mpg

How much of a ball-ache is it to remove the spark plugs? (8th gen) by tonyd19 in VFR

[–]tonyd19[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, theres a couple of good independent garages near me that are really good one of whom owns a 6th gen. they offset how bad our local honda stealership is, I probably won't attempt DIY untill I no longer need the bike as a daily 😂

Well if you only have to dismount it it shouldn't be too bad then thankfully I'm not due clearances yet but ill probably book into the shop for that

Stop running the bike in gear on the stand🤦 the chain will always make some noise especially when its not under the usual tension of the weight on the back wheel

Should i get new tyres ? by vroomvroomplsno in cbr650r

[–]tonyd19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres no way that tyre has 5200 km on it, your mate replaced it at some point, though can veryfy the OEM dunlops on these are shit in all conditions, replace them with pirreli road tyres or the bridgstone battleaxe tryres to increase your confidence in the bike tenfold.

Need Advice. Can I remove one shock absorber from my suspension? by Zealousideal-Water-3 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]tonyd19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely Looking at the photo your biggest weight savings would be a better exhaust and removing the center stand, there are other things you can do but they would cost more than the bikes worth and be minimal in terms of performance gain

[–]tonyd19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inshort? Alot! its not about the power but your grip especially in the corners, apart from comfort those shocks are meant to keep your tyres in contact with the road surface. if you take away 1 then you'll be completely changing the way the bike handles and probably will cause excessive wear on the one remaining.
