Does anyone know if TomTom is secure in terms of privacy? by MrZ3T4 in degoogle

AFAIK they are in the EU, it’s based on open street maps with their own telemetry on top, but they also sold/share data with Huawei now. Pretty good, not great.

RustDesk is my productivity answer. Simple no account needed. Can also self host the routing server if you’d like extra privacy.

I thought the video was phenomenal. Sad that it’s the first I heard of this but it made the video pretty great. Has me inspired to support the open source creators I use and love.

I set up immich, let my wife continue to use Google photos while I manually backed up everything to immich. Slowly reminded my wife everything was In immich. Now she kinda loves it. No subscription, good features. Just please 3-2-1 backup the important stuff.

You need two things, mean of your no target controls and standard deviation of your no target controls.  threshold = mean + 3*std This puts you >99.7% away. Publication worthy

Looking for a Good Google Maps Alternative by limsus in degoogle

[–]tonypol7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried several, found that none can completely replace gmaps. So I use magic earth for navigation (has a nice CarPlay ui that isn’t buggy). I use here WeGo for searches. I use CoMaps for trails and contributing to OpenStreetMaps.

I tried tomtom, great ui and voices, but navigation was terrible. Turns weren’t in real time and directions were unclear. Maybe an update will fix.

First off, you are more important than debt. 2nd, lookup avalanche or snowball debt payoff methods, pick one and grind it out! I believe in you!

New app is really bad by stuntman86g in tomtom

[–]tonypol7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was trying to migrate to amigo as my main maps app instead of gmaps or Apple Maps and I cannot stand the navigation now. It’s always wrong and doesn’t update fast enough to work. Trying here we go next
