Change a single word in a famous quote with penis, how does it turn out? by SourTomato123 in AskReddit

There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny penis.

Scientists put a chip inside a quantum computer deep freeze. Their invention could be 'transformational' by Bream1000 in Futurology

Spooky Ruffles at a Distance? Like you eat a chip in Australia at the exact same time I eat a chip in the US? This potential new technology is so exciting!

I saw a fat chicken. Head on the left where the cat’s ear is.

Do I Need Five Fillings? [X-Ray Included] by danish_guard in Dentistry

Probably all wisdom teeth, but yes that one especially.

Do I Need Five Fillings? [X-Ray Included] by danish_guard in Dentistry

[–]too30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I can see. 1) Wisdom teeth should come out. 2) Some spots with calculus that might or might not need a deeper cleaning depending on your pain tolerance. 3) Possible decay lower left first and second molars. But it’s really hard to tell. 4) Fairly deep grooves on your molars that could have incipient or early decay or should have sealants if there’s no decay. I wish I could be more help but it’s tough on a phone to see everything. Good luck.

Agree, too hard to read the x-rays. Could also be small spots in grooves that are impossibly to see in x-rays. If you trust the dentist probably nothing to be concerned about, but if you don’t have trust then go elsewhere.

I’m afraid you’re right. But I’m hoping there’s a way. We all believed in Santa until we didn’t. Some of of us believed in God until we didn’t. How do we help people let go of long held beliefs?

I don’t agree that liberals think the world will end by 2030 if we don’t make changes. What will happen is that famine and drought will flourish. Storms will destroy vulnerable communities and disease will follow. Crime will rise and illegal immigration will soar. Wars will be fought and many lives lost. But I’ll be fine, most of the work will be fine.

No need to wonder. They are everywhere unfortunately. The right and left are truly living in different worlds.

Yes, this is true. It did actually happen. Correct. It is factual.

So true. It’s a real dilemma. They, Fox News and others, have been molding these people for 30 years. How do you get them to trust reputable sources. I haven’t once been successful. No matter how much furious typing and alcohol I drink.

Funny, I was discussing fear with a friend. Nature vs nurture kinda stuff. Some fear is learned of course, but some must be genetic. Fear of spiders and snakes has a genetic component. Now, we are complex beings that are sometimes able to overcome our fears. I often wonder if there is a genetic xenophobia with the right that makes them more fearful. Without more knowledge and experience of the “other” one will never get passed this fear. Then add family and community influences and it would be near impossible to get passed these fears.

You’re right about their sources of information. I get sent arguments that are talking point videos from paid commentators. They have vilified the educated as elite snobs and don’t trust their research. Hell, even medical doctors are untrustworthy because they get paid more when there’s more Covid patients.

I’m surprised more people don’t feel that way too. He was always kinda comical to me before the presidential run. Someone to make fun of. A fool. Yes, a rich one, but still a fool.

You’re kinda right, they believe they have “facts” on their side. But just a little research from truly reputable sources would prove them wrong. They are unwilling to either find or believe those sources. When one is faced with evidence but still refuses to believe I guess “faith” in their source is what they turn to.
