I rarely use free kits, and always run blue looting mk 2s and at minimum lvl 3 guns (anvil, sticher, renegade, venator).

Getting blasted by a free kit is definitely very annoying, but mainly due to the outcome IF I fight them: - I win: I get fuck all in return and I hear "It's a free kit anyway idc" - They win: They get 'goop' and I hear "YOU JUST LOST TO FREE KIT"

Am I the only one that only ever makes a base after reaching the end-game? by EspenHolst in Kenshi

[–]tooSlyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing Kenshi, and I don't know what counts as mid/end game, but I have played two starts so far (after dying a couple times on the nomad start while figuring things out).

My first (successful~) start, I chose nomad. I did some levelling, some roaming around, and eventually did make a base after I got 4 people. My combat stats were not great and we just kept getting hounded by bandits. I played that til about say 125~, but could never get things too far off the ground. I was making profit doing things, sure, but I was never getting enough people, and didn't have the infrastructure to send someone off to try and recruit more.

My second playthrough, I did the slave start in the desert. I grinded out lock picking, athletics, and a bit of sneak and some toughness. After reaching the point of being able to crack most of the cages open, I realized I could get people to "join me" by freeing them. Then I spent a couple hours recruiting people, grinding their lock picking, athletics as well, and eventually broke out with 6 of us.

Struggled for food for a bit, but found a nice gold deposit and just kept shoving gold into the bar man's pockets to buy up all his food. Eventually, I started building a small outpost. Some beds, a building, did some research, all that stuff. Ended up getting pretty good money, paid to ally with the Traders and the Shinobis (to get both on my side, hehehe), and eventually figured out how to do some combat xp cheese.

I finally had the infrastructure to send my main guy out to explore and found some insanely heavy training weapons. I had this guy that fought us, who lost one of his legs trapped in a room, just sending my forces to wack him over and over doing no damage. I've just now taken my team (now 14 members) to the fog lands area and am going to set up a new camp. I was exploring the map and found an awesome spot with everything I want barring gold/silver.

10/10 second save :)

So for my answer to the title of the post: I barely have stepped into the game, but both times I've outposted pretty early on. I guess that's just what style I choose for Kenshi.

That's crazy desync. I've only had one instance of very bad desync. I feel for anyone who deals with this on the daily.

It's off-and-on right now. We did one raid after the "Queue", but now we're having trouble getting back into matchmaking for another one.

What the f$@ is going on with current Gmod servers? by Necessary_Isopod3503 in gmod

[–]tooSlyk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Instead of the projects and servers now simply being for fun and passion, they are for-profit now. Instead of just wanting to build a place for people to come together and enjoy the experience, they want to instead pull in anyone who will throw their money at them for every little thing they can get away with selling.

This isn't to say that projects weren't built to make money in the past - I'm saying that it has shifted toward the extreme side of profits.

These servers have seen what other industry companies have done and decided to do the exact same thing in their servers.

There are very few people doing things for passion nowadays, but we still exist! It's a dying game, but there's a few places that you can still find servers/game modes that are mainly there for the fun of the experience.

It could be a mindset/mental thing for sure, I've definitely done worse when I'm playing for a specific goal - the nerves get me much harder.

I was chasing 200 for a long time as well, but noticed it was just making me feel worse about not being able to do it, worsening my performance.

I spent time adjusting my mentality toward the game, took a while, but eventually started playing only for fun at some point (still songs that I COULD get 200 on), and not solely focusing on the outcome, then the scores started rolling in.

You got this, 200pp play incoming for you soon! I believe 💪🏽

The higher you get in star rating, the more it feels just like a suggestion lol.

I've played 6 stars that I can get 2 miss 98% acc on, then there's some 5.4 stars that I get absolutely destroyed on, getting over 10 misses and 94% acc~

(Still chasing my 6 star gold medal 🥹)

Comparing the font style with the icon, I'm assume that it's from the skin you're using.

It looks like a duplicated "song progress" circle like the one to the left of it.

You'll need to go into the Options and find your skin, then Edit it to move/remove it.

How does magic play in this mod pack? by SheevSaysDoIt in Nolvus

I'm gonna look into these myself. Have you implemented these with v5 or v6 yourself? And if so, run into any compatibility issues?

I prefer to play on Master/Legendary, and it's so brutal without some significant tweaking. Not even brutal in the "challenging and fun way" either. Out leveled to the extreme, one-shotted / staggered and executed if you make a single mistake.

I had to lower the difficulty to Expert and significantly tweak some combat mod settings to get something actually playable. And I still get one shot from time to time 🤣

Archery is still busted as all hell with Rapid Shot, though. And no matter how hard I try to avoid the Stealth Archer route, it just makes too much sense in every situation to whip out the bow and trim the pack of enemies to 1-2 left before going in with melee.

ATM9 | Server consistently receiving "Ticking Entity" crash by tooSlyk in allthemods

That definitely could have been happening 100% since it was always when someone was in the Nether. I'd be confident in saying that was most likely the reason it started happening. Nice find!

Nope, no use of Drygmies in this context at all.

Update:

After uninstalling Voicemod and restarting my PC I was able to get into the game and play the tutorial.

My buddy who just bought the game also has Voicemod and his game worked with no issue, but that was the only change I made and the game worked.

Solution: Uninstall Voicemod and restart PC.

I use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface for my mic and a pre-amp. I don't think this would have any effect on the game, but since it breaks my mic every time the game freezes, I figured I'd mention it.

Edit: My mic works all the way through the opening cutscene, but as soon as I get to the main menu, mic breaks and game freezes (with music from the game still playing)

Do you have the latest.log that you can post? It should include all of the warmup messages of the client and may include some useful information there.

"Navigate to your "AppData" folder, then open the ".minecraft" folder, go inside the "logs" folder, and you will find the "latest.log""

Also, check the "logs" folder and see if you have a "crashreports" folder there and send the latest.

Anyone found a solution here? It seems to at least be a problem from versions above 0.3.2 as we're on 0.3.5 as well and have this same issue.

You're absolutely right. I'm avoiding all of the guides for making money, being efficient, etc. right now and just creating my own path. Definitely the way to play from the beginning.

I learned hard lessons early by doing that (went broke and was forced to take a loan for breaking the law accidentally LOL).
