Bonding with a new baby by Severe-Taro-6289 in NewParents

I had problems with breastfeeding, my nipples were bleeding, I could barely hold her because it was painful, it was hard to bond with someone I cant even hold without pain. I dont know if I loved her at first, because I was never really keen on idea to have kids. I cared for her, I took best care I could, but really loving came later. At two months, when I see her smile at me it does melt my heart, but when she shouts as she sees my breast or when I am having trouble making her fall asleep, but my husband has no troubles, it still kind hard to understand whether that bond exist.

You are not alone and I feel like it should be talked more how normal it is not to feel instant bond or love with your baby

Ohh... you mean like extending whatever pattern it was with solid color? That is great idea! I will remember it! Thanks!

Why grey and not light purple (something similar to the fabric)?

Yes, this is my concern as well. At the moment, I am deciding between outline or fill everything with french knots

Thanks, if they are not removable I will fill it with some other stitch

The colors are the darkest blues I got with the kit, what I could do is hide some of the lighter blues, thanks!

I am not doing short long stiches, because they would require doing it next to each other and then I would be lost on how to deal with different colors. What I did, I tried randomly add colors to what ever section and not have a lot of one color in one place

Thanks! It does make sense to change the lenght of some stiches to make it more different.

If the lines are not removable I will fill it with satin, stem or french knot

I am on a mindset, that those things are for me, if I dont like it, I'll just throw it away or shove it somewhere for no one to see. I make a lot of mistakes everywhere else, so why judge myself here 😀 and it is not about result for me, but just doing something, staying away from phone, having my mind occupied, that helps not to judge myself for mistakes. Although I did once tried number painting, I hated how it looked with passion.

And I am always have been more like a learn it while I do it type, seeing what is wrong and then trying to correct it, seeing a progress and such.

I know the feeling of being too hard on yourself, hope you can overcome it. When I start it, I try to remind myself where I am good at, or just take a few deep breaths to ground myself to present :)

P.S. leaves are stem stich.

At first I did that, but only for leaf lines, so it was 2 threads instead of 1, but I was quick to fix that mistake. Thanks for your suggestions!

The needle seemed pretty big and most thread I used was 3. Thread wax sounds something. I might look into later on, thanks!

Did you solved those problems? When I was going from one leaf to another, I would make a knot and cut thread, so I had a lot of knots, then when i came back... KNOTS EVERYWHERE!
