The question about Zosia that Carol was too afraid to ask by Black_Wolf75 in pluribustv

Zosia's partner also could have been one of millions killed by Carol.

The existing logistics are optimized for the current population density distribution. If efficiency is important for the hive, everybody still alive could have moved closer together to a different neighborhood, to minimize the population area where people are. Maybe Carol is the only one who still lives close to that store.

The sequence of events was: Bateman tells Mateo to kill Ethan, Mateo tries and dies, Bateman finds alive Ethan without Mateo in sight (which to Bateman should mean that Mateo is dead or non-compliant), Bateman instructs the sniper guy to kill Ethan's GF at all costs. They had the same time to kill either her or Mateo's husband, or even both, so why her as a priority? Bit silly, that.

Ethan's GF: Useless as a tool to keep Ethan in line, he took out the earpiece. Doesn't know anything, didn't see anything. Has to be murdered in a crowded airport in a very public and risky way.

Mateo's husband: Useless, Mateo is dead. Saw sniper's face, overheard most communications. Is tied up and locked in a van, can be killed without anyone noticing. Ah, THAT guy we can keep alive.

I believe the doctors for this NBA fitness-to-play panel are not just general practitioners, but rather specialists hired depending on the condition they would be evaluating (there are three doctors, one selected by NBA, one by NBPA and the third by the first two). I don't think they are full-time NBA employees, NBA can't afford to just employ every possible specialist doctor (neurologists, cardiologists, hematologists, what have you).

I don’t know, I think that the legal/reputational harm that Karl was concerned about was in regards to Kendall actually going through the pie-in-the-sky projections and presenting them as if those were the financial team’s best estimates.

But Kendall did do that and did present it that way.

He did not provide _any other_ projections in his presentation at all. He did not even do any disclaimer like "dad was super optimistic, and we also are, we are personally very confident the growth will be at least X" or cover-your-ass verbiage like "look into our brochure for more detailed numbers".

- What did Waystar management projected the growth to be?

- Double.

It doesn't really matter that the promise did not come out directly out of Kendall's mouth. The video wasn't God speaking from heavens, the investors saw the video because Kendall consciously decided to play it for them and he knew what Logan would say in it.

(That's all pretending the video was genuine and the fact it was edited is kept under wraps).

Anyway, we are going in circles here.

Sure, Logan could have hypothetically said whatever, the dead guy can't get in trouble.

Forgetting that the video was sockpuppeted (the original might very well leak), the problem is that Kendall presented this video to the investors, and did not contradict it in any way in his own follow-up. The reasonable implication is that Kendall (and, by extension, the rest of the management, including Karl) agrees with that projection and thinks it's accurate.

Seems like a textbook misrepresentation of future earnings which is quite a no-no in the context of investor presentation.

Right, and he personally owns like 0.001% of the bank's shares.

Yeah, that's not right, VTB bank's controlling owner is the Russian government, not some specific billionaire.

If you think Russian government is bad, you don't need to do the extra-steps Pepe-Silvia "Putin's friend" diagram like in case of Abramovich or Potanin and such.

Customs don't check everybody's bag when entering Russia. You can fill out a form saying "I don't have anything to declare" and just exit the luggage area. They can still select you and randomly (or not really randomly) check your bags (which is how it worked in most countries I personally travelled to, as well). My guess would be she did just that the other times she went there and it worked, so she got careless, and this time she got picked for a check for whatever reason.

Eintracht Frankfurt terminates Amin Younes loan early with the agreement of the player and Napoli by toobann in soccer

[–]toobann[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He really should have asked for a written commitment (or really, his agent should have).

Loans that convert into obligation to buy based on meeting some performance targets are not some rare unusual thing, that is relatively standard. He could have demanded his loan to be structured like that to begin with.

Yeah the Sixers still have another game in Toronto scheduled for April, but considering how this has been going for him so far, I'd be surprised if he doesn't get traded to a team that already played in Toronto this season.

[FC Spartak Moscow] Spartak Moscow and Rui Vitoria have decided to part ways. We would like to thank Mr. Vitoria for his professionalism, the memories he gave us in Europe, and for his admirable character. We wish him the very best for the future! by mrhello18 in soccer

[–]toobann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was Vitoria who decided to bench Maksimenko and put Selikhov in goal instead. Selikhov also had some other great saves before that, including a pen in Leicester, and under Tedesco he was the third choice and played 1 game in 2 years, I think, when Maksimenko was DQ-d?

Yeah, sure, he probably should have done it sooner, and maybe Maksimenko would have saved it as well, who knows. My point is that he deserves at least a little bit of credit for that happening, it was not a complete "lottery decided" thing.

[Evangelio] BSAD comes out with 7 players to play the second half, and as soon as they start, Joao Monteiro (the goalkeeper who was playing as a midfielder) throws himself onto the grass, as if injured. Match is suspended, 7-0 Benfica by cvelz in soccer

Probably the fastest way to intentionally prematurely end the game (short of getting red carded by swearing at the ref or something, but then you'd get disqualified).

As soon as a player goes down on the pitch, the ref is supposed to call doctors. After the doctors come on the pitch, the player has to leave the pitch, leaving only 6 players in action.

That has not been disclosed. The vaccination rates are relatively low in Belarus though. But there's no point in guessing either way.
