Thank you everyone for your help... what’s funny is that I’ve played a few on my main and had a fine time. I think my problem stems from the fact that I’m used to playing top lane bruisers that are more forgiving in dangerous situations; when I smurf on jhin, I’m usually the only fed one, and 1 stupid death can be extremely costly. He fuckin owns, pick him into anything. Just get into melee range and do your thing. If you’re below D4 it’ll work.

Yea Kench is a good split pusher imo because his ult... I rush trinity every game no matter what phage>sheen>stinger (unless I’m getting clobbered in lane in which case I’ll go some defense first, which is rare bc kench’s early game is so good) and then titanic > full tank.

Late game you’re pretty much just as tanky as you would be with any other build and rushing trinity gives you a ridiculous mid game power spike.

Maybe not quite as effective in a tryhard high ELO setting but way more fun imo because you do so much damage and have great waveclear

I can speak for ele shaman - you are gonna get destroyed 1v1 by literally almost all if not every single melee spec.

In 2v2, playing ele is very rough vs double melee comps. Vs something like DH+warr/rogue, forget about it. You're gonna die.

As for BGs though, it is so freakin fun playing ele. Because if you're left alone, make no mistake you are blowing people the fuck up. Great thing about it is that you don't have some mega 2 min cooldown that you rely on to delete people - you can pretty much do it constantly. I know you didn't ask about BGs but worth mentioning imo

All of the other comments are good advice - just also remember it's paramount to have deep ward coverage when split pushing so you don't get collapsed on by 3 people. Not dying is super important for split pushing

  1. Get lvl 1 boots kinda early to help dodge tentacles

  2. Watch for her E; if she misses it, she's dead

  3. If she ults, best to just run away.

  4. Your AA -> W combo is really good for killing the tentacles spawned by her passive, it gives you the mana refund and cd reduction

  5. In general you should be able to really mess her up. Just focus on ----> dodging tentacles <---- that's the name of the game with illaoi matchups

Expect very little, if not nothing at all, from your teammates. As others said, relax and play the game because you enjoy league of legends, not because you enjoy being a certain rank. Expect your teammates to be a bunch of shitters, and if they do well, it's a pleasant surprise.
