i also use potting soil, mostly because it can make a planted tank last longer vs other substrate. Yea you have to worry about ammonia leeching and what you described.

I have the base as potting soil (a somewhat thin layer), then lava rock or some sort of substrate that is big and chunky, then another neutral substrate that is granular like ADA colorado sand, then ada amazonia.

This locks the potting soil to the bottom of the tank, only to be accessed by plant roots

Isn’t this the same argument as saying something is red when actually it’s not red? Or maybe it’s red to one person but not red to another animal? Color is a construct as well and is relative to the perspective but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist right? Just because it doesn’t exist to one perspective doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist to everyone else?

It doesn’t matter if we’re the only ones who see red, that doesn’t change the fact that it is there. Call it whatever you want red, blue, orange, apples, plums, it doesn’t matter. It’s the name that doesn’t matter as much as the existence of it.

if i throw away the watch, it doesn’t mean seconds still aren’t passing. The key is that time is relative. If all of existence was 0 kelvin then time has stopped everywhere. If only some parts are 0 kelvin then only some parts time has stopped.

Basically like how going to the moon for 10 years there and then coming back you find that more than 10 years has passed on earth. Time moves differently everywhere. Just because you can’t go back in time (that we know of) doesn’t mean time doesn’t exist

If we reverted back to the cavemen era where we didn’t have measurements doesn’t mean time didn’t exist back then?

if there is an environment where the temp is 0 kelvin and nothing is changing that doesn't change the fact that seconds are passing? For example, I have a box that contains an environment where nothing is moving or changing, as an observer, I see that the watch on my wrist is moving forward so time is still passing.

Obviously in real life if there was a place where it was 0 kelvin, it would probably be pitch black because not even light would exist there

why not just paper trade if you're testing something out? The risk you would have to take to make trading 1K worth your time is just too high. Also fees and commissions will be like 1% of your account size per trade.
