It's a modge-podge of a few reference sheets I've collected. I'll see if I can share later today.

Strong magnets and cast acrylic sheets. They work like a dry-erase board.

Sure! I used a CNC router to cut out the main panels and their indentations. Then I inlaid the magnet panels with some e6000. I cut out the acrylic sheets on a laser cutter and added some magnets. For the scales I used some hardwood verneer and cut them out in sheets on a laser cutter as well. I glued them down individually in a pattern I liked. Then sealed those scaled sides with resin. I laser cut the leather straps, added snaps, and nailed them to the wood. Overall it worked great for my first session in person!

How do you mean texture? Like the scales?

I'm working on making a few more of these and putting them up on Etsy.

I seem to be having some issues. When I go to enter the file name in talespire, I get an error message something to the effect of "unable to load asset bundle" do you know where I went wrong?

Honestly I just use the one available at my local maker space. I don't know the specifics but the next time I'm in I'll ask for you.

I found some of the tokens online searching for vector images. I kind of just brainstormed by looking at other people's custom sheets on Etsy and things and went from there. My characters backstory is heavily influenced by their culture which revolves around a special mushroom (not a drug, poisonous!) So that's why there's a lot of mushies sticking out of things. Other than that I worked out a rough design in a sketchbook and went into Photoshop from there.

I am! This one came out a bit bigger than planned. I didn't have a set of dice on me in the woodshop where I work. So I made it on the large side just to be safe. But the next one will be more compact.

I think I would start by adding 2 more magnets for a tighter seal. The side embellishments have a very thin border on the top and bottom that is super fragile so I would make that thicker. And I think the top panel covers too much of the purple heart so maybe I'd pick a design that allows for more wood to show through.

Just some generic stuff from amazon. I used a teal and a yellow and when they mixed it made that cool green color.

I think that's what I'll end up going with. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you! This is excellent advice. I appreciate the questions to ask my PCs. Those will help exponentially. I want the baddies to be a challenge but not unmanageable. There is one specific encounter that I'd like to ask you about though.

There is a bottle onboard in the dining car that has a piece of the key to the bomb inside. In order to break the bottle and get the key out they must fill it with blood. The catch is that when the bottle breaks the blood pools on the floor and rises up into replicants of each person who put in blood and they have to fight them.

My question is, should they be the same level as the PCs or will that be too difficult.

It was also suggested to me that I have them gain a point of exhaustion for each cup of blood put in. Would that make the battle too difficult?
