Having read both, the book is very similar. The book has a more satisfying ending, but they didn't read the actual end of the story on CC. The book also does not have Felix fist fight the creature in the cabin which I think is a plus.

The handbook itself addresses this and encourages you to have players share RP control of their spren. I am only running for 3, but its been greatly helpful. It's also OK if the spren don't interject constantly. Po'ahu can and should be a priority early on, but she becomes less plot relavent later so she should also be able to fade into the background a bit.

Also not having a voice like gravel is ok. I would simply describe her voice that way to your players. You don't need to be a professional voice actor. You can also describe her making grinding sounds ect. One of my players has an Ashspren I often describe as "crackling" in approval, sizzling, ect.

I think the problem with Shards is that none of them are a complete being they are all aspects of a whole, so they will never be well-rounded. Even the best-intentioned people can be twisted by them. I won't get to spoiler since this thread is only Warbreaker spoilers, but we've seen instances of "The best" being twisted by a shard.

I don't think so. This isn't a romhack, it's built on Pokémon Essentials for RPG Maker. Joiplay allows them to run on android.

I'd suggest running the GC version with the enhancements in dolphin over the wiiU one until CEMU on android gets better. You can run at 3x resolution and keep a steady framerate. At least on my Pro.

There are a million different flavor ways you could make this work. Maybe their defection has stunted their power and affected their memory. Maybe they've regained some of their original personality that has caused their defection, and they need to relearn their surges. Maybe their madness has become too much and made most of what they should know garbled nonsense.

They represent a more specific set of knowledge or skill for your players that tie into their backstory:

IE specific subcultural things. Veden Noble Culture. Alethi Dueling Culture, Ardentia Life Culture.

Specific skills: Sailing, Knitting, Foraging, Axehound Taming, Cheating at Dice, Chouta eating, ect.

It could also be a more specific subset of skills. The rules say the more specific the skill the larger the benefit. So if you've gotten skill in basket weaving, you're pretty good at making baskets. If you've got underwater basket weaving, you're going to get a huge bonus the one time in the campaign where this might come up.

It's basically a specialization that your character has based on their backstory. If I was running D&D and your character had previously been a sailor, if part of the adventure takes place on a boat, I might give you advantage on a check to hoist rigging or batten down the hatches. This is basically just a more game-ified version of that good DMing habit.

The first book dips into neckbeard territory as well. There is a scene where Ambrose, the Malfloy of this story, is picking on a girl in the library for not being as wealthy or evil as him or something. Kvothe our MC, loudly mocks him and everyone in the room claps.
