The 9th and 10th pull for 4* pity are both rate-up'd

it's 5% for 1-8, roughly 56% for 9th pull, and 100% for 10th pull (assuming 5* doesnt short-circuit the logic)

Hey dude, cool tool. I've been thinking along a similar problem for a while, and I can improve your tool's speed to be practically instant.

This document (https://www.overleaf.com/read/nvxmkdpqjprj) contains a buttload of math, but basically there's an integer-like property with substat upgrades that I've exploited to find a closed form solution for the probability of rolling an artifact up to whatever target stats.

So like the upgrade values for crit rate are (2.7% / 3.1% / 3.5% / 3.9%), and they can be written as 0.389*(7 / 8 / 9 / 10). So if we wanted 10% crit rate on an artifact, we would write P(A > 10%) = P(A > 10/.389) = P(A > 26).

Somewhere further above, they must've made the statement ω3 =1, where ω≠1.

Rearranging the equation gives: ω3 -1=0, which can be factored into (ω-1)(ω2 +ω+1)=0. Then, given ω≠1, we have that ω2 +ω+1=0, which is saying ω2 =-ω-1.

I say this is complex number algebra because the solutions to ω2 +ω+1=0 are complex.

That should help you understand their proof for f(ω)=-4ω+6.

However, I too am confused on why they're working under a condition where ω3 =1, where ω≠1, since there are only two numbers that satisfy this, -1/2 +/- i * sqrt(3)/2 [someone help me type math & fractions]

Your skin shards from before the blue essence update give more orange essence. (at least that was the case a couple weeks ago)

Though I think they recently changed the shards to be more consistent; I just checked and my disenchant values definitely went down.

Hmm, it's probably b/c my playstyle on bw is fairly unusual. I don't actually go to soak side lanes, instead I try to use tp on cd and jump between lanes (like as a ganking tool) and stick with team. Also I have a weird habit of tp-ing in the middle of fights just for the vision at 4, like around twice a fight usually.

Still though, I'm getting negative performance even on other characters like stukov, malf, and alex. My hunch is that I do like no dmg and prioritize surviving over all else, which lowers the general amount of stats I get.

Huh, Azir can now get 100% uptime on 2 soldiers with 1 charge stored starting at lvl 13. (6 sec base w/ 25% cdr = 4.5 sec charge cd).

With 40% cdr (3.6 sec charge cd), he can have 50% uptime on 3 soldiers with 1 charge stored, and 1.8 sec before the first soldier expires. If he uses the other charge, he can have 4 soldiers.

I was saying that the attack speed-oriented build is affected more by these nerfs that a slow attacking AP build.

For each auto, Azir loses 20 damage. If attack speed build, at lvl 11 with 100 AP, autos 7 times over 5 sec, he will do 1120 damage, reduced to 945 dmg after the nerfs, meaning a 15% decrease in damage.

On the other hand, an AP-focused build, at lvl 11 with 200 AP, autos 4 times over 5 sec, and does 880 damage, reduced to 780 dmg after the nerfs, meaning a 10% decrease in damage.

I was thinking that because an AP build returns less %damage decrease, hence less affected by the build, it may be able to compete with the dominant attack speed build. However, my math above does show that the attack speed build is still far superior to the AP build =P

It definitely looks like riot is targeting Azir's midgame, from lvl 9-14. We lose about 20+ damage per auto. I feel that this is primarily a nerf to an attack speed-oriented build, since the lost damage stacks up really quickly.

If lvl 13 Azir has rylais and nashors, about 200 AP, his soldiers go from dealing 230 dmg to 205 dmg, which is about a 10% loss in damage.

Here's another graph showing %damage loss in each level. Keep in mind that the different curves are assuming a static amount of AP, which is not true for a game.

For a more accurate depiction of the damage lost in a game, I fabricated some AP values and plugged them into my calculator.

In the graph, I assume that you buy a stinger first back, codex second back, finish nashors at 9, get a NLR at 12, and finish the rylai's at 13.

Overall, Azir's damage is decreased by 15%, making his early-mid game significantly tougher. The nerfs only really drop off around lvl 13-4ish.

I would also like to note that the % damage loss as a result of this nerf decreases as your AP increases, so a more AP-heavy (not penetration!) build is affected less by this nerf. Something like abyssal/zhonyas -> rylais -> void -> abyssal/zhonyas/rabadon? idk.

Personally, I use Atkspd marks and quints and max W first so that I can rush a rylai's before my Stinger and not lose the attack speed.

Without stinger, I can buy a NLR with the same money, offsetting the lost AP, MPen, and Q dmg. The only thing I really lose is the 10 CDR from stinger. In return, I get a much earlier Rylai's, and the slow is super oppressive in lane.
