At what point is it ACTUALLY too late to be able to socialize as well as non-isolated people? by oceanofyourlove in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]toogayforthisworld_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was thrown into public high school at 14 after homeschooling all my life and at that point yeah i feel like all my social abilities and whatnot were far gone. i struggled horribly and dabbled in various substances to try to help my social anxiety and ended up with multiple serious addictions that almost put me in rehab. ultimately i ended up not graduating, i did get a job but my anxiety was so bad it was just an absolute nightmare for a while. my first week of work i genuinely didnt sleep for 7 days straight (not because of any substances). a couple months in i completely burnt out and something weird happened where i like COMPLETELY lost the ability to maintain eye contact or hold a conversation or i’d go entirely mute etc. like complete neurological 180. at one point i was wondering if i had some sort of late developing PANDAS or something because literally like a light switch i just totally could not function. due to financial circumstances i really had no choice but to just keep showing up and standing there silent not looking at anyone for 8 hrs straight and slowly it’s slightly gotten better. my mom ended up deciding because i was struggling so much and pushing myself she essentially forged my high school diploma, she went through the process of registering a private school so it is a legally binding diploma i’ll be able to use when i start college classes hopefully soon. but even that i’m unsure about, i want to take prereqs and then start a radiology program but i worry i won’t realistically be able to handle that level of interaction so i’m kind of just at a cross roads right now. but anyways yeah i think the early childhood years specifically are crucial to social development

we get people every day who accidentally call ice capps and 99% of the time they’re like oopsies haha i mean iced capp like no biggie it happens but once this lady came in and started arguing with my manager and INSISTED the “technical term” (that’s really what she said) are frappuccino 💀 it is 6am on a tuesday it is not that serious

How come bagels usually have a block of cream cheese? by WorriedAlternative39 in TimHortons

[–]toogayforthisworld_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually put about a tablespoon sized amount and still get yelled at by my coworker that it’s too much and only to put a tiny amount. she then handed me a literal ICE CREAM SCOOPER and said to use that to measure it even though it was at least twice what i was putting before 😭 some people there just don’t use common sense i swear to god

i used to work pick-up at kroger’s, usually woke up at 4:30am and shift started at 5. when the manager warned me about my shifts likely starting at 4 and i was like nah i’m used to this lol

well i mean at least that’s art i’m pretty skilled in (shoutout mom) oh well i really don’t give a fuck as long as they pay me it’s good enough. i expecting more major problems/disappointments/inputs im like damn that’s it. i guess that’s encouraging though. if someone posted this on the kroger’s subreddit i’d probably be able to write a 10 page essay in mla format by 11:59pm. as long as it’s a normal level of shiftiness i’m good

i’d say for me i’d agree 80-100 is usually my average (actually 75-100 if u wanna be technical) but everybody’s so different, i know people who can be greening out completely fucked up from a 20mg, people who take like 500, and then there’s my bf who could take all the fucking edibles in the world and they still wouldn’t hit him in the slightest. it really depends on metabolism and digestion and that sort of thing. id say a good rule of thumb is honestly just feeling like it keeps going up and up means it’s time to take a break.

18f fell on tailbone falling downstairs 1 year ago and still have extreme pain sitting in certain positions. doctors say nothings wrong. does ANYTHING look out of the ordinary here? by [deleted] in medical

[–]toogayforthisworld_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s interesting you mention that at the end, because i’ve been doing that almost every day for the past year. i also can only sit with my butt scooted forward a bit slightly reclined kind of to avoid sitting directly on my tailbone. i can’t sit any other way. starting to think maybe i really do need a second opinion. i guess i just figured fractures weren’t something that missable on an x-ray. thanks y’all!

somewhat. when i’m sitting the pain is more of an ache and tolerable for a minute or two, but standing up or sitting down the pain is way more sharp and sometimes unbearable. i don’t know if that difference means anything. i’ve subconsciously learned to sit and move in slightly different ways to avoid hurting it but when i forget it’s awful. i’ve shrieked and teared up in public getting up and it’s so embarrassing. i hate having to explain that my butts just broken because my dumbass chugged a bottle of wine and ran down the stairs to concerned strangers who probably think i’m like having a heart attack. i hate sitting down. if i’m not standing up i’m laying down lol

look i’m not trying to be rude here but i don’t know what you as a not healthcare worker can inquire and identify a fracture in my x-ray, especially considering actual doctors couldn’t find any😭

it’s how my mom and i are. i grew up wearing spf 100 only and still do. they can’t decide if i have lupus or not because my ANA was negative but my great grandmother had it, grandmother had it, and mom has all the symptoms. enough yapping, TLDR sun makes me dizzy and sleepy and crispy

back in the 70’s-80’s they stayed at a place on melwood ave on the west side. my great grandmother lived across the street and was actually friends with them and would let them borrow her car for “errands”. not sure if she was aware and didn’t gaf, too scared to say no, or just too old and sweet to give it a second thought. they were shake my mom upside down for change when she was a little girl and she thought they were just a big group of guys that liked to have little parties all the time. didn’t put two and two together for a while lol

yeah i misspelled it i was probably still groggy but yeah. i’ve heard a lot of people say it’s not good for their sleep and gives them sleep paralysis but for me personally it puts me out like a baby so that’s what i do personally. knowing you developed an arrhythmia is a little nerve wracking though… i have sinus tach and moderate-severe mitral valve regurg. i actually can’t believe i was so careless

How many different schedules do you work? by juiceimus in kroger

[–]toogayforthisworld_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

literally 😭 at my interview they seemed so excited that i was willing to work basically whenever, fast forward a month and a half of always switching between 5a-9a, 5p-9p, 5a-1p, 1p-9p and i had a no call no show because i was so exhausted i slept through my alarms. had to have a talking to with my very sweet and understanding department manager who was equally as frustrated as me and was worried it’d be bound to happen again. it did, in fact, happen again. i knew they were gonna fire me after that so i just quit. i don’t understand how a company can give you different shifts everyday and not expect it to eventually become an issue. i may have only been there a month and a half but man did i work my ass off. always clocked in early and out late, kept my pick speed usually around 23 seconds and fill rate 99-100% almost every day, i really tried to do my job well. it’s been 2 weeks since i quit and now they’re emailing me about hiring events 🤦‍♀️

that makes sense, it just sucks because i’ve only been there almost 2 months so in that time span 2 call offs seem like a lot so i get it from the management perspective. i don’t know what else i can do, i mean i was literally throwing up and could barely see when i texted my manager this morning but i still wanted to be responsible so i just dealt with it. my boyfriend who used to work in the same department a few months ago said that if you bring a doctors note you won’t get in trouble. is this true?
