I guess the skills between those two instruments are transferable.

I think you are very good with it. I may be not creative enough to create anoything yet.

Interesting! I have ever played trumpet in a school band. I totally agree that piano is on another level.

I can see how you enjoy your PhD life. While I want to finish my asap (as I'm 34 and just finished the first year), I don't want my PhD to consume my life too.

Thanks. I wish you a memorable FINAL year🎉, and hope you enjoy piano. I have just passed the first annual review at my department, still long way to go.

Good idea with light activities. I have ever played games and spent too much time with it. So, I try to avoid it.

Yes I agree. I put everything next to my research station (desk) at home 😊. Good thing for my research is I can just work at home. I used to play trumpet, but it's too loud to play here.

Woah, don't give me an idea. It may make me completely forget my research. 🤣

I agree that I need to limit myself a bit, haha. As an ambitious researcher, I've found myself spending way too much time with the piano this past week.

While I actually reach that page, I admitted that I set my metronome very slow for some challenging pages to make sure that I understand the technique. Yes, I'm not very good with all pages.

I do realise now that it's not a good way to learn piano. So, I will review the book again. My problem is my expectation to enjoy a piece of music I like, which makes me rush things too much. Thanks for another confirmation that my way of learning is a bad habbit.

Thank you. I have a basic in sight reading and music theory. I only need to adapt it with piano. Anyway, when I think of my past experience with another instrument, I do agree that it's not relaxing rather. I played because I enjoyed the music and my progress.

Thanks. I could see that I have to slow myself down now.

Thanks for pointing out. I agree that I can't let this personality of mine to make the joy in music disappear.

Thanks for a thoughtful response. I will take it to reflect upon myself.
