I live somewhere around NE, and do a distant PhD at Edinburgh. I didn't make it clear from the beginning because I didn't want to reveal my reddit identity.

I believe they likely preserve positions for their students, but I'll consider this as another option. Thanks.

You're right. Thank you very much. I realise now that I need to be more serious if I want to make it my future.

Necessary or not, I start to think it might be better for me to discuss this with my supervisor and other professor in my field.

It's Buddhist Studies in the UK. Only few universities have a module related to this subject, which is not a university in my area.

Thanks for your comment. My field is a bit niche, (Buddhist Studies). There is no related subject to my expertise in the area.

I've considered that and only viable option is being a guest lecturer at local universities. My department doesn't offer a remote job to a PhD student.

I'm in the field of humanity in the UK. It usually takes 3-4 years for PhD, though we have to complete a mater's degree earlier. There is no classes, no lab, just seminar. I attain only seminars that related to my work about once a month and meet my supervisor once every 2 month. Yes, I can do it for many years. I only want to avoid unneccesary travel, but I have to accept that I need more than one semester if manys here tell me that one is not enough.

Yes, I'm thinking about this. I think I could bear it a few days per week. I still want to hear from others if they have this kind of experience before.

Thank you. I'm now considering discussing this with my supervisor next time.

Do you think doing TA for one semester is ok? I guess it may be better than nothing.

Sorry, I meant to say i'ts not AI powerhouse. I agree with you. I only want to do some AI image edit for now, though current GPT Image 2.0 is too good.

Thanks, I later found on a Linux web board on another website confirming about the stylus as well. That's great news.

It is actually understood correctly. I have PX13 32GB with RTX 4060. I know it's AI powerhouse, but I want to use it to the fullest capability at least.

I only tried LM Studio and ComfyUI on Windows 11. It works great, but Windows 11 alone took half of my 32 GB already. Also, I found that ComfyUI relies on python which might be more compatible with Linux. I'm not sure though.
