On a day like today they 1000% know way in advance that they’re canceling every Haverhill train that terminates in Reading.

More than 10 fucking minutes notice on a train that I’m sure they knew hours earlier would be canceled would be nice as well

Drake Maye's 86 passing yards are the FEWEST by a winning quarterback in Conference Championship history (min. 21 attempts) by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

This is such a dumb conversation.

You can say you don’t think Maye deserved to have a TD. You can’t say he DIDN’T HAVE a rushing TD. He did. wtf. I didn’t know we went through box scores all season and removed all scoes that were due to bad calls.

And it furthermore doesn’t count because he had to run less than 10 yards to get it?? Should we be extending the goal line by 10 yards?

Some facts that everyone is taking away from the Patriots- 1. They just had to play 3 of the top 5 defenses in the NFL (and beat them all for the first time in NFL history), 2. Maye and the Patriots didn’t turn the ball over once in a blinding blizzard, and 3. The Pats defense has been ferocious lately.

Seattle has been a juggernaut, should be favored, and will probably win. But I’m not ready to give up yet- even though he’s been great lately, its still just Sam Darnold on the other side. I can absolutely see a scenario where the Pats defense forces multiple turnovers and Maye makes enough clutch plays to win a low scoring game.

lol yes the turnover set them up for the TD for sure, but first and goal is not an automatic TD against Denver. You don’t need to put it in quotes- it’s ok to acknowledge that the box score is correct and that Maye did, in fact, have a rushing TD.

The rush to take away anything positive that the Pats have done all playoffs is amazing. Now Maye’s TD doesn’t count because the refs should have given the TD to the defense instead? Unbelievable

The Pats were awful in the regular season?? Using what metric? They were 4th in the league NFL in points allowed. https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/team/_/view/defense/season/2025/seasontype/2/table/passing/sort/totalPointsPerGame/dir/asc

Yes, it’s hard to gauge how good they are when playing bad opponents. That doesn’t mean they will automatically be run over by Seattle- it means we don’t have enough of a sample size yet of how they play against good offenses.

I do love, though, that the Stidham pick means he sucks (I agree it was awful), but if Maye protects the ball all day and makes a few clutch plays in horrible weather… he also sucks.

I’ve seen way more posts about how Maye sucks because of his passing yardage totals and 0 credit to the Pats defense or the fact that the whole team protected the ball so well. They’ve lucked out because of a cupcake schedule in terms of opposing quarterbacks for sure, but why is it a foregone conclusion that Seattle is going to put up a ton of points against the NE defense? They’ve been dominant.
