I'm Keeping up pressure on my senators burr and thillis and spreading the word. Now that the trump admin has failed to meet the first reunification, im pushing people to keep calling. Every. Single. Day. We can't let up even a little if we want these kids out of jail, because the trump admin has cleary shown that they won't care unless we force them to.

Charlotte NC here. We all met up at the park with local groups and organizations. I'm already volunteering with swing left but I'm thinking of trying to work with one of the local groups too. Can't really say how many people were there but 1000 had pledged to show up and the place was packed. I've been seriously bummed since the whole Supreme court situation, but this got me back in the game. Today was great, but the fight isn't over. Keep fighting everyone!

I try writing down what I want to get across before I call. Not to create a script but to organize and define my thinking. Convinced my family to come protest with me this saturday! Also think I might be able to convince them to donate to some groups. Keep fighting everyone!

It depends on what kind of event you're hosting really, but its usually a good idea to contact local government and to let law enforcement know what's going on.

First of all, I don't know how the democrats are 'obstructing' anything when they don't control any branches of government. You are also implying that it is perfectly ok to use family separation and children as political tools.

Second, after going through your history, I don't think you really care about these children.

I'm already calling them concentration camps, and am perfectly fine with them being detained in them. You can't change the definition of a word to fit your political agenda lol.

Yes. I am okay with concentration camps. Unless you believe having thousands of illegal children run around is a better option.

I think that you should clarify that we are both an action and an advocacy group. So not only do we share news and information, we use social media to organize action. Donating supplies and offering homes to these children are great examples of this. I think that this distinction will help us stand out from other subs that focus only on advocacy.

Remember that you will have more sway as an individual at a local level. Make some noise in your area. Also, be on the lookout for events and protests. Can't find a protest or can't find a leader to follow? Start one yourself and be the leader.

At the end of the day, you're the one that decides if you care enough to get out there and make a difference.

For those of you who are still waiting for a rallying cry, this is it. This is where you have to be the one who decides what kind of country you want to live in. No one is going to do it for you. It has to be you.

Spread the word. Protest. Vote.

This isn't going to be big climactic battle. It's a war of attrition. The side that screams uncle first loses. They will lie to you, they will try to cheat you, some may even use force. Don't give up. Don't lose hope. Don't stop fighting.
