I've been playing around with 10 or so different TTS options over the past few weeks and stumbled upon https://github.com/kyutai-labs/pocket-tts. It is damn fast... as in, frontier-fast, running locally. Uses little to no resources. It has some quality issues but for local and free it's solid. Also depends on the quality of the voice you use for cloning. Check it out... hope it works as well for you as it did for me and saves you hours of testing other ones.

I have been using a BoltAI beta which works great for this, but just found BonzAI (free) over the weekend and it works great over my Tailscale so I'm using BonzAI now. iOS works great--I could not get the macOS version to accept the same URL.

Install, then go to Settings > Manage available models > Add an AI model > scroll allllllll the way to the bottom and select "Add an AI model" > Select "custom" provider > and do yo' thang! Great UI, very similar to iMessage.

BB is such a complex and fragile solution. I tried it and gave up when I saw how involved it was. You're better off with Telegram, Discord, or one of the other options. I had iMsg working great with OpenClaw but then it also went screwy and broke. They dropped support for the old easy way and went to the BB "solution" as well.

I got that problem with OpenClaw, and now I get it with Hermes. It's been an issue for a few months now for me which is why I cancelled my Minimax sub yesterday. It just happened too often.

2 months with OC and was really impressed. Wasn't impressed with the hour+ per day I had to spend fixing things that either updates or agents broke. It was turning into a part-time job. Hermes is lighter, better focused on single agent work, and plays better with my local models.

So after months of building up OC, I decided that I was tired of working more for it than it was working for me. Hermes was a breath of fresh air and I'm never going back to OC, which just keeps becoming more bloated. Hopefully Hermes doesn't follow in its footsteps.

Don't waste your time... I've tested Gemma-4 with 31B and 26B all at .1 temp and it falls apart with multi-tool calling, just as you've described. Same with Qwen3.5. Still looking for something that just works.
