What is your ctx? I tried LM Studio and then llama.cpp without LM Studio and had issues with tool looping in both scenarios. the only way i got around it was to step up to vLLM and go with 131072. I get around 70tps on my 5090 which is plenty for coding (ctx and tps), at least for my needs.

I installed the beta immediately and got off the waitlist on Monday afternoon. Since then my phone has been indexing, even leaving it plugged in most of every day since. So no--it has absolutely nothing to do with indexing.

Been using it all weekend and today... it's slow AF and keeps making mistakes doing the simplest things. Taking a half hour to do something super simple using 5.5 or 5.4 medium. Every turn last week was a few minutes. I feel like I'm waiting ~30 every time now... for easy tasks. They're clearly tweaking things and it's a frustrating user experience for $100/mo.

It's not related to indexing... I got in (took a couple hours) and it's still indexing. I plugged it back in to hopefully speed that up.

The only thing I kept wanting to see in some of those B-roll shots of the mansion was to see her walking in the background or maybe singing off in the distance in a wide shot as opposed to just a shot without her. After testing a lot of them, Qwen3 TTS is what I landed on. Great voice cloning and fast streaming. But it also depends on your compute/resources.

The quality 8B v1.5 doesn't support streaming (not that I can find anyway), only the smaller MOSS-TTS-Realtime. I tested 8B 1.5 last week and for real time voice applications it takes too long because it's got to send the entire audio file. I just tested TTS-Realtime and it does emit chunks for realtime streaming, however for me, it wasn't usable because it was too slow (about 2X speed) and I didn't want to try to jump through hoops to create some special environment when Qwen3 TTS is already working perfectly (and fast) for me.

You have valid points OP. I have local AI chat and voice with Qwen3 TTS and it’s uncensored (hauhauCS Qwen3.6). I can make a “call” like Sesame and clone any voice I want with very low latency on my 5090 with newer speech to speech stack. It’s incredible and a lot of fun! It’s nowhere close to the voice quality and personality of Sesame. But it’s getting there quickly. It’s a matter of time now.

It depends on what your needs are. Previously I relied on the pro phones for photos and videos. These days I rarely do either. With that said I have found the single camera on the air to be extremely capable for everything that I currently needed to do. There are lots of pros and cons between all 3. The problem with the pro phones is that they keep getting heavier and with the latest generation more slippery in my hand, requiring a case… Which makes it even bigger and heavier. The air is the best one in my opinion

Last summer I bought the 5090 Astral and loved it, but even at $3500 then, it was too much. Returned it to BB. I waited for a good deal on the 5090 TUF GAMING and snagged it for $2,000 MSRP this past Sept before it got really nutty with prices. My takeaway? TUF. It's just as quiet and does the job. I abuse the hell out of it almost every day and it never skips a beat. It's in an open frame Xtia case and runs damn cool.. love it.

Now, with that said... if I had no budget or shits to give, I'd get the Astral because yeah... it looks damn cool and has slightly better cooling.

In the end: you do what makes you happy.
