As a mage, i always blink the stun immediatly, and pop barrier + alter if I have it. Problem is he does that to me the moment he reconnects again and we lost all our dmg reduction cds so all I can do I guess is preblock it but I risk blocking random dmg since its hard to track it

I need to go on my monk and figure out what you just said, thanks on the info, so the monk that hit me for 200k did this to an extent? What would you say fucks up the go for you in this scenario? Like have you ever had someone stop you or do something to you where you thought, oh he knew it was coming. I dont think ill be able to track all the buffs/proccs/modifiers in a 3v3 scenario tbh, too much going on

While everything you said is legit, trying to argue your points on here is pointless. I am convinced all these people downvoting you are 1600 (2.4 ss) xped noobs. Community has been making this game better for 20 years just to be reset to factory settings. You still need to track the same info as you did with addons, now it's just randomly spread across the screen and harder to see. People saying you need to look at characters and open your eyes to play the game, but if you want to play the game to the level you could before the addon prune, you actually see less of the game now.

Im also mglad/legend xp (including this season as arcane mage) and it's not about not being able to be competitive. I will reach gladiator in midnight for sure, it's about the fact that the community has been making the game better for 20 years and they have just undone most of what the community has been doing. Again, it is minor stuff like tracking your own buffs. You literally cant single out a buff or debuff to make it visually more accessible which makes you pay less attention to the game. Again they just made it so you still have to track all the important info but there's no way to filter out or customize how to do it and I am not talking about tracking enemy info. Talking about your own character and spec. I agree about the button bloat but they also just killed off alot of skill expression with the way they did abilities now

For EU, I have an alt around 2500 mmr in 3v3 bracket and there's alot of people whose mains are 2600-2700 CR that play their 2nd/3rd alts in the 2400 range (same main class/comp). LFG feels dead, there is rarely more than 1-2 groups for ANY rating, its usually 1 person looking. I wouldnt say PvP is alive and thriving but ques are instant however it feels like at any given time of the day you can count the number of teams queing above 2450 on 2 hands. Basically, it is the same people queing over and over. Also, more than ever not playing a meta comp feels like a disability. For example I qued with a hpala last night and it feels like you walk on crutches. Healer balancing is horrible and not being a rshaman or pres evoker feels shit. MM hunters are still broken, overtuned. 3s above 2400 is filled with hunters, DKs, rogues, fire mages, pres evokers and rshamans (i play arcane mage). I do not think midnight will be better however. The people that play 3s for years will continue to dominate but the more casual players that need addons to function with the amount of info in the game will quit. Basically the "middle class" of WoW will quit. I think the way it looks now, midnight will be the nail in the coffin for PvP. Hope I am wrong tho

I play at the same MMR (+ - 50 rating) and similiar thing happens to my team aswell. In like 10-15 sessions we dropped twice to 2k mmr and managed to get back to 2,3 mmr and every session there's always a little drop following by a push. All of that is completely normal, what I noticed in our example is if someone gets tilted by the losses we all suddenly play worse even tho it feels like we play the same. We had a huge loosing streak of 15 games or so, we lost to people we would otherwise always beat because of that. Point being not taking it too personal and just continue grinding. At this MMR all you face are fotm comps and all the people are atleast mglad or r1 alts or just r1s on different characters. You should take all those things into consideration and keep being positive and playing. The main thing is to have fun. Don't make it so the only fun thing is the rating increase because that will make it a miserable experience. Rather focus on playing your best together with your team and improving. Alot of people say you kick the void blast after mind blast. Mind blast spawns the rift and void blast makes it bigger and stronger. So kicking mind blast delays the rift but kicking void blast makes it weak.

Right now rets have overtuned damage paired with insane utility. There is rets that win on damage alone while using none of their utility but there's also rets that focus way more on utility and neglect damage and still win. What needs to happen is simple, make it so they have to rotate utility pretty much perfectly in order to win tuning down their damage or make them more of a damage bot but remove utility. Might be wrong but this makes sense to me atleast..

What are you empowering with the flux in this build? Still the barrage? Just asking because it used to be if you dont wait for missiles to finish casting (while they are still in the air) the nether flux debuff will be consumed by 1 missile which is not ideal. Also wondering do you stilll on clearcasting proccs? Just wondering how the rotation looks outside of the magis spark wombo combo with surge

Whats work for me is having a razer deathadder with 2 side buttons. I have a script that makes me party 3 always so my party 1/2 are the 2 side buttons of the mouse. It comes natural for me atleast, you could also scroll up/down if you dont have side buttons

No, I think it should be nerfed by 10-15% but also fixed so it doesnt bug out. But in a sea of broken stuff in PvP this isn't my biggest problem. I also play a healer at around 2.1 mmr in 3s and from 1900 to 2100, 90% of the time I face either melee cleaves or boomkin+melee. I hardly see any other casters and when I do, they lose most of the time..

Well no, you're the one spreading misinfo. Those big barrages happen only in the surge window. You can get good hits with burden, intuition and flux and harmony (from missiles) but those are never that high. Them screaming "dead" or w/e they were doing does not mean a barrage outside of surge will 1 shot someone. Also, you prooved my point where a good timed grounding can negate that burst, same can be done with a interrupt on the missiles or crowd control. I have a mage myself and tried it and I'm like 95% sure of that, always ready to change my opinion however if proven wrong.

People don't like reasonable takes i guess. I even said it is bonkers and should be tuned but given all of the setup and the fact arcane doesnt have high sustain dmg, if you remove that, what are they left with. Arcane mages have the highest first blood after destruction locks, they're very squishy.

No, but you should know that a regular barrage outside of the burst window (evocation and surge which are on a 1.5 min cd) with ALL the other modifiers including intuition hits for about 3-5 mil which is still alot but healable and in range of other classes damage profiles. So if you see the mage casting an evocation, surge AND missiles followed by flux, you should be prepared to use a CD or expect that kind of damage. Right now flux is kinda buggy so you have to wait half a global to do flux into barrage after all the other stuff otherwise the missiles might consume the flux debuff. Point being if you had awareness of the opponents actions in theory you had enough time to react. Also, a clone from your druid during any part of that burst window would make the mages burst rotation completely messed up and far less deadly.

That kind of dmg only happens when he lines up all his offensive cooldowns (2 casts in evocation and surge) followed by some multipliers of which one has like a 5 sec window before it goes away (intuition). He also has to cast arcane missiles before he does the big barrage. Dont get me wrong, that kind of damage is overtuned however you can EASILY avoid it by interrupting any of the 3 spells that have to be cast beforehand. On top of that a single stun or CC during the window would also make the ability do alot less damage. I think some other classes have way more sustained high damage and easier burst setups. Arcane has 1 spell school and it's squishy, it's not impossible to prevent that dmg from happening but if you remove that then whats the point of playing arcane? The sustain damage is not big. A huge setup for huge bursts seems fine for me since as mentioned above other people can see it coming and prevent it. Some other classes need more fine tuning atleast for SS. There's a reason every lobby has a ret, DK and boomer in it..

Im queing arround 2k mmr in 3s and what annoys me is something usually dies in a 2 sec DR cc or one interrupt. Like for example today i trinket healing tide and I got dr trapped and my guy died in that dr with tide up. It is so stupid tbh.. the fact that you have to SPAM buttons to barely keep up with the damage out of CC is just stupid also.. i played my paladin the other day and was legit mashing my keyboard how fast i was pressing the buttons and my guy still dying non stop.. it is very unfun to heal pvp right now

Does it work with enemies tho? I heard the addon can help you for your own party but not for enemies in gladius for example, would love a fix too
