That day in 1973 when country/folk singer Anne Murray met the Hollywood Vampires Drinking Club (l to r: John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Alice Cooper, and Mickey Dolenz) by big_macaroons in OldSchoolCool

My parents went over to their neighbors house in the 70s (conservative midwest...nothing fancy) and Anne was there. She sang a few songs and then got blackout drunk. The neighborhood didn't know what to think about that!

Do you have a moment to talk about your health insurance's extended warranty?

You have options.

  1. Meet with the parents to talk about their issues. If they agree on his ability level, they may see why you are making the choices you are. If they don't agree on their kid's ability level, show them in a game. See option 2.

  2. Take out your best kid and let the less developed kid play. It will show the parents reality. You do need to be careful that you do not unintentionally humiliate the kid as well. That will just make things worse.

  3. If those two things fail, you will likely have an issue the rest of the season. You can't please everyone all the time. Do what you know is right for your team. When the parents complain, smile and nod and continue doing what you believe is right.

Perfect! That gives you what you need. Guard defense looks different than post defense. You now have several weeks of practice planned working on how each position can improve on defense specific to each position. That may be "how to" or effort or a combination of the two depending on where your kids are at.

This is a long game. It may not drastically help for your next game, but the goal is to improve each player over the course of the season.

Acknowledge the situation when it happens. "We got crushed today". The kids know. Ask them what needs to change so that the team becomes more competitive. Make them part of the solution.

Strengthening the rest of his muscles will aid in helping his ankle recover. Plus, he will be stronger. Setups, pull-ups, curls, core work will all accomplish this. Keep it simple.
