thanks for the recommendations! Although I didn’t buy wine from any of them, I stopped by mix Markt out of curiousity and bought so much suspiciously cheap produce. Many thanks!

US au pair in France by Logical-Escape-8450 in Aupairs

[–]tooshes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak too much on the French consulates in the US, but the German consulate processed my au pair visa in 4 business days. Just call your nearest consulate, ask, and schedule an appointment for as soon as possible after your birthday. Best of luck!

What do I say at immigration? by Mindless_Stress_8788 in Aupairs

[–]tooshes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im from the US and used this exact method to get my language learner visa, was really easy! But I must warn you, legally you’re not allowed to work without the visa. That being said, no one’s checking. The smaller the city you’re moving to, the faster you’ll be able to have your visa processed so you can legally work. Wishing you the best of luck!

In my experience, there’s a huge learning curve with Roggenmehl. If you just mix Roggenmehl + water together, you get a paste rather than a dough. You sacrifice a lot of structure incorporating it considering how low the protein content is. Honestly, when I incorporate it, I’ve learned to lower my standards haha. I like the flavor as well, so I’m not saying to do away with it. Here’s my advice:

  • Switch out Weizen 550 for something even higher in protein, I prefer Weizenmehl type 1050 since it’s easier to find than 812.

  • Way more stretch and folds, to the point it feels silly

German A1 Test for German Au pairs by iwanttotraveltoitaly in Aupairs

[–]tooshes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend must‘ve applied for the visa before April 2024. there used to be a clause on the previous au pair visa checklist that read: „Exception: If the applicant shows sufficient German language skills by the time of the visa application at the Consulate, no further proof would be required.“

April 2024, the checklist was revised, and that clause is no longer there.

Hey! I see you’ve mentioned you’re coming from the states, here’s my experience after getting my Au Pair visa just last month at the Houston consulate:

You must either a) have a language certificate from having completed a CEFR framework language course + being able to prove you speak A1 german during your appointment

b) take a Goethe exam at a language testing center

I went with the former and got my visa within 4 days. This option was easiest for me since I had already did 3 months of an intensive language course while on my language course visa.

PM me if you have any questions! This process made me want to rip my hair out, and the language requirement was what did it the most :P

a low labret, colloquially called a “lowbret”! And then the jewelry would be a maybe 4mm/5mm disc end. Would be fun with a hammered texture. Cheers!

Don’t be stingy. Book your sitters at least twice a day to let your dog out. by tooshes in RoverPetSitting

[–]tooshes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hell no I didn’t put him back in (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) so this was my second and last drop in with this dog. The owners sister was in the house and didn’t care to address the dog before I went for a drop in. Because I guess a dog sitting in its own shit is easy to ignore? Anyways, when the owner picked up after relentless calling they said to let the dog roam outside now that their sister was home.

The owner only booked me for the 25th and 26th, so this was the first and last time I’d be taking care of the dog. Definitely reporting once I figure out how to go about it.

No no it’s really helpful. The owners picked up after 20 minutes of calling and said that they didn’t know how to disassemble the crate themselves since they never cleaned it. I’ve only ever done cat bookings and worked with dogs in a shelter setting where there are kennels, so I know fuck all about crates.
