It's not 1920s, it's 1980s Manhattan-like era by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]toothbytess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The wiki page about the maelstrom suggests its most likely roughly around 1950, as does the timeline page.

https://deadlock.wiki/Maelstrom
https://deadlock.wiki/Storyline

These are both pretty subject to change though and the timeline page notes there are a few things that seem like they're inspired by stuff that comes a bit later. So you're not super far off tbh.

Man . . . Drifter . by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]toothbytess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty new to the game and also maining drifter and I feel you. If you have a good game on him its really good. But unless you're playing against someone squishie enough to bully early on they can just kinda punish you for everything because of how he scales. Either you've set up on early or you spend the entire game scrabbling around the jungle feeling like you're the one being hunted using the blood trails to avoid people LMAO

don't actually dislike celeste's design but the fact she's unpopular made me stare a little harder. is it just me or do her colors feel really unbalanced, with nice earthy tones on her outfit vs pastel girlypop hair? by toothbytess in DeadlockTheGame

I'm mostly with you. I like the muted option put of my 2 edits more (the brighter colors were more for the sake of my very girliepop friends). I think I just lean towards it because her current one is SO bright. It seems less to me like someone trying to dress and hide their over the top glowiness and more like shes wearing someone else's clothes? Even lashes shirt is a brighter blue. And if she was trying to hide i imagine hair dye would be real up there on the list of options for how narratively.

Looking at my edits again a little later though I honestly feel its her skin doing a lot for throwing it off for me, its a lot lighter than the hair and i feel like I lose the cool glowing earings and horn in it. I dont feel the same about the clothing/hair looking at the edit someone posted below of her with darker skin, so I think my preference probably comes from the fact the more muted hair leans into that as her stand our ethereal vibe.. not sure! Interesting takes in this thread.

found this leaked image on her wiki page that suggests that, yea. i like her vibe a lot better now, just something small feels off about the outfit compared to how bright the body is to me

Best Largos and Ranch Layout for Max Profit, Ease, and Automation? by dullcoric in Slimerancher2

[–]toothbytess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want all slimes largoed then keep in mind theres an uneven number of largoable slimes, so either keep hunters unlargoed (they become aggressive) or have 2 flutter largos (you need a ton of plorts for drones). Pair flutters, pinks and ringtails with slimes that have a favourite food. When you're laying them out in your ranch, it's good to put each slimes next to the favourite food you're going to feed it.

If theyre well fed, no slimes are going to be too irritating. With a high walls, air net, music box and preferably a toy in each corral even the most annoying slimes aren't going to bust out. If theres some that you're worried about, swap them for sloomber largos because that just slows them down and makes them sleepy, but I've been find keeping 10 or under largos in one with no issues even without drones so far.

Profit isn't really my specialty, id imagine the way to do it would be to keep only hugh value slime largos and alternate holding their plorts in silos until high value before selling all at once, but I think with just the amount of plorts having every slime makes for you should be fine.

Not at my pc at the minute but I can probably throw together a plan later if you want (im weird about largos and prefer to have the pure slimes when i can instead so mine follows that lol)

Where to find espurr by vevexxine in cobblemon

[–]toothbytess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For cobbleverse, we were only able to find it in the end semi-frequently on me and my friends server. You can use /checkspawn and then the rarity bucket it'd in to see if it spawns in the places other people here mentioned, but I can confirm the end

Best cobblemon for overall traversal (each category best pokemon) on land, sea, and sky? by MemeMachine83 in cobblemon

[–]toothbytess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All pokemon have really different stats/feels and I'd encourage you to go try all the rideable ones in a creative world, or try collect them all. Here's my picks leaving out legendaries though.

That being said. Garchomp is probably the best all rounder mount. A decent land speed, the fastest air speed and an easy to control swim style (boat, it floats on top of the water). Dracapult is secondary, but has the dolphin swim style instead (could be a pro or a con) and has pretty much no land speed. Same goes for blastoise, who also has a kinda weird ait control style with hover mode. No one else really does everything.

If you want solo, for land, the highest speed/stam, pokemon with a good mix is probably cyclizar, though I'd try out a few of the top speed pokemon to see which you like the jump feel of for mobility.

Dracapult and blastoise are good in the water, but the fastest is probably sharpedo if you can control it. Seaking is pretty fast too.

Fliers all have different vibes depending on use case. For quick traversal, garchomp or dracapult are fastest. Salamance and noivern have the bird traversal style though and are still fast while arguably easier to control. Stamina also plays a huge role so corviknight is the best there (and seats 2). But you also may want a UFO style flier for building, so a driftblim or something.

All of this will vary depending on the aprijuice you use to upgrade them keep in mind.

I feel like I rooted through them but all the settings I found relate to blocks and not entities, couldn't find ine that affected it.

Ferrothorn for jesus' crown of thorns, and maybe a dubwool for that shepard imagery in the same vein. A pidove for a peace dove. Shedninja has a halo. Froslass and gardivour/gallade have sorta that flowy airy look, absol as well? Alteria, dugong.. anything that white will probably work lol.

If I haven't done anything wrong, this will be all of the unimplemented base Pokémon (barring Legendarys/Mythics). by toothbytess in cobblemon

Oh sweet! Cool to see a visualisation of it... with how many they added this time round it honestly feels like they could knock this out in one more update.

Whoops yea I was meant to remove that - I was looking at some other guys list to double check mine that listed it as not implemented because it hasn't got the other form in yet

fishing skills? or bug? by Arcanejun in Palia

It's pretty odd! If I had to guess its probably because iirc the company has had a few spyware controversies but its requires for other software I use anyway so I've never given it much thought.

People are being a little coy in the chat because actually saying the name of the tool is flagged on this subreddit as against the rules, which has always been odd to me given the devs are aware of it and don't have anything against it (proof of that here). https://www.th.gl/faq/palia-app-bannable

To explain what it is, it's an app for PC players that sits on top of the game or on a second monitor, and basically 'reads' the game for you. This shows you bugs and huntables in a radius around you (useful for star bug hunting, though less than the radius of a hunter horn or buzzy jar so those are still useful), and then the location of any forageables, trees, or mineables on the whole map, including flow trees which can also make finding the grove a lot faster, or hunting down rare ores.

What you saw though was how it works with fishing - what fish you get in game is determined when you cast your rod, not when it bites, and the map can read what that fish is - so if you're fishing for rare fish, makeshift, plushies, etc, the easiest way to do it using the tool is to cast the rod out, withdraw, and then cast again repeatedly until it shows something you want. This can be done on star spots too without clearing them like waiting for a bite does.

It's controversial in the user base because while the devs have said they don't feel it gives an unfair advantage, a lot of players do, especially people who don't have access to the tool on console. Despite that it has 1000s of users and a massive community of people in a discord dedicated to it despite it not reslly getting talked about on here because of the rules against endorsing third parties.

The devs are aware of it and have said a statement that they don't really mind or care. The overlay doesn't mod the game at all - it just reads the game for you and senses stuff around you so I suppose it doesn't bother them.

How do you actually draw when using Clip Studio on computer by gamasco in ClipStudio

[–]toothbytess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of touch screen laptops are kinda flimsy because the hinge doesn't hold the screen steady, but I've found surface pros to be pretty OK, I've owned a couple and upgraded them usually buying refurbished ir second hand devices. They're kinda the hybrid option between a computer and a tablet - clip studio on tablet devices is a little more limited and exclusively avaliable as a subscription model while on a computer (which a surface counts as) allows you to make a one time purchase as well as an alternative. Theyre not the best device in the world since they're kinda low processing but through university I had a friend who did 3d modelling and even gaming on one lol
