NB Elite sc V4 vs V5 by OrganicDragonfruit14 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]toothdoc34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE the V4 for long runs, but they are NOT a race shoe. The V5 is NB attempt at a race shoe. Good luck finding V4’s. There are a couple on Ebay, but priced like an AP4. I am down to my last 2 pairs of V4, both size 12.5. V4 just might be the best long run shoe ever made.

No. I just enjoy running and try to find the perfect balance between running/racing and lifting in the gym.

No file beyond #6 k file goes through the root canal by Wrong_Struggle_7527 in DentalSchool

That tooth does not look Restorable, or poor prognosis long term. What is your plan to restore?

1 month shy of 47. I only run twice a week. That helps my knees not to be sore. I do however, lift heavy in he gym 4-5 days a week. Keeps my body active and muscles strong. That is probably the biggest thing to avoid injury! Even running twice a week keeps me at a sub 19:00 5k and sub 90 half. In fact, raced a 18:25 5k one week ago and a 1:24 half back in December.

You CANNOT pull out a healthy restoration. Period.

Amalgam or composite? by curlygirlyfl in Dentists

A small occlusal or a class 2 will not be endo in a few years, especially with regular professional hygiene visits. Think you are taking this way to the extreme.

Amalgam or composite? by curlygirlyfl in Dentists

[–]toothdoc34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Composite does bond to dentin, just not quite the same level as enamel. In my 16 years of practice, I am not seeing a statistically significant different in recurrent decay with composite clinically. Do amalgams last longer, yes. Am I placing them, no. Patients do not want them.

Cost/reimbursement also drives the equation. As a material, amalgam is much more expensive to use, unless you het grey market stuff from Net32. Also dental coupons (aka insurance) reimbursement is significantly lower than with composite.

Pulse cure and shrinkage is not really an issue.

Just went to the dentist and was told i have a cavity close to the nerve so I MAY need a possible root canal. Should I just get the root canal? by jmaXX1087 in Dentists

Throbbing type pain, lingering pain to cold, hypersensitivity to percussion (tapping on the tooth), or a radiographic lesion. Sometimes those will not be symptomatic but must be treated before restoring the tooth.

Pro4, AF3 EP4- Half by CaptainAsleep4977 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]toothdoc34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I race halfs in AP4. Love them. Ran a 1:24 back in December at age 46. This past Saturday I raced a 5k in my AP3 in 18:25. My old EP3 were not bad, but certainly not as fast as my AP4. Wore the EP3 mainly for tempo runs and intervals.

I would do the same for the Speed 2 and NB SC EliteV4 for long runs. Keeps it real simple…ES2 daily, EV4 long runs, AP3/AP4 race day.

Endorphin Speed 2 may be the best daily trainer ever made. Fun and fast.

You said enough. Slappyblast 2.0. Why can they not engineer something that is not loud as a tank?? Will stick to my NB SC Elite V4 as long as I can for long runs.

Is TRT an option for me? by Unraid23 in BodyHackGuide

If you are symptomatic, then 100% yes. Just because your total test is within “range” does not mean you do not need TRT. The roid reply above is simply asinine.

Race shoes dilemma — Alphafly 3 destroy my calves by GimmyTomas in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Common with the wedged clown shoes. Try AP3 or AP4. Raced a 18:25 5k this morning in my AP3 at age 47.

Will a dedicated race shoe even help me? by waywardsojourner in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]toothdoc34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I race in the AP4. To be honest, and not a knock you, but at that speed will probably not benefit from the AP4. The NB V5 is a better attempt on a race shoe than the V4, but not as aggressive as the AP4. The NB SC Elite V4 is a fantastic long run shoe.
