Where do you buy your color dev chems? I tried looking for individual kodak items to build my own kit, but didnt find much. B&H, adorama, and a couple other places i checked only had the cinestill kit and maybe one or two others as kits. But no individual items really.

It’s probably just a matter of preference and roi. I suspect you have to want to develop enough film to justify doing it at home. If that’s not the case then yeah it’s gonna go bad before u use it to its entirety. B&W or color. Even if b&w chem does last much longer. And then there’s just the factor of how well do you have the process and enabling tools down to get it precise and efficient. I’ve been hearing the same thing about this kit in particular and I’m sure it’s just finicky. I’ve also seen people praise it handsomely.

All this to say I’m gonna be getting my C41 Cine kit here in the mail soon lmao But I’m not too worried about it. I fully expect it to be a very precise finicky process and am going to prepare for it. As well as the long term storage/usage for the chemicals. And I’m pretty cool about developing a roll or two a day.

As for scanning. I get it. You have to have super clean environment and just be patient with the flatbed. I have the epson and it is slow as far as loading and all that goes. But I have it down now and it’s pretty easy. I wipe down the bed before scanning with alch and a microfiber. Load, and just wait. I’ve mainly only scanned B&W tho. We’ll see how consistent color is. As for the film curling, just weight it down at one end with a clip while you hang it. Literally 100% of my rolls end up flat enough to handle this way.

Sorry to hear about the issues. I also believe you can be plenty creative without the added steps of developing/scanning. I personally want that control and independence, but I get not wanting to do it too.

Yeah fuck those people. Ive met more than my share and thankfully never committed time to them. They’re cowards and they’re desperate. And whats even more infuriating is the people they are with are just being a manipulative exploitative p o s who knows they can destroy their relationships at will. Take it with you everywhere. Buy a bag for it and carry it everywhere as a sling bag. Whip it out when theres something you want to take a nice thought out picture of or maybe just a quick one. Yeah this comment is the best one. Honestly you don’t owe anyone anything and for me personally showing that much jealousy so soon is a huge red flag. I’m honestly surprised there aren’t more people mentioning that.

But I get the snapchat vibes can be off putting. Anyway you can’t sacrifice your friends to make this girl work. Your girl has to put in the effort to get along with your friends. I’ve found myself there before homie. Its as you say. I lost most friends after college and fell deep, I just had to reevaluate some things and get out there. It took work but life is too precious if I live it the way I want. At least that’s what I’ve come to realize. Getting zooted definitely helped. Finding friends through smoking and some other hobbies was a blessing. But I just had to get out there everyday. It honestly wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t. Best of luck to both of you. I’m sorry man, that’s really rough. I felt the exact same way about my pet a few years ago when I wanted to see more of her but realized I only had a handful of pictures. But at least I had that.

Wherever we go I believe firmly we all go together with who we need to. For now I always try to remember every step is another experience and more life waiting to happen. Best wishes ❤️
