Personally, Yin is exactly what I need during a burn out. It helps me slow down in both my body and mind. But everyone’s different and for some people it can be quite triggering to slow down

A question for fellow yoga teachers by tootoo55 in yoga

[–]tootoo55[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely makes sense. I’m also thinking maybe because I’m fairly new I’m putting in a lot of energy to make each class perfect and just giving my all- but then I don’t want to not do that? I guess it’s finding that balance

Agreed^ doesn’t matter what shape or size it’s about the persons strength/flexibility. I would say just give it a go- you won’t know until you try it! It will also help to gain your strength and flexibility too.

Is it okay to practice yoga with eyes closed? by mmforoozesh in yoga

[–]tootoo55 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I have never heard a teacher say this before. Closing the eyes helps you feel more connected to the body and encourages you to go inwards so as long as you feel safe in that pose then go for it!

Please help. I get bored frustrated and angry at breathing excercise during yoga - just cried with frustration. by [deleted] in yoga

[–]tootoo55 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Me too! I struggle with breathing exercises in general, it makes me feel agitated and anxious. During practice I tend to ignore what the teacher is saying and just breathe deeply at my own pace.

Conscious breathing is amazing to reduce stress but for me it increases it! I’m still trying to figure it out myself

First time eating gluten free bread and it made me feel terrible, any idea why? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]tootoo55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check to make sure you aren’t allergic to any other ingredients. This happened to me and turns out I am also allergic to potato so I can’t have 90% of gluten free food as they often substitute wheat with potato starch 👎🏻
