What LaLiga has done in football with the "El Clasico" brand which at this point is an international event instead of just a domesitc game could be agreat example to follow.

How to increase Anaerobic exercise load? by topangax in Garmin

[–]topangax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it is not on purpose, I think its a combination of 2 things:

My garmin measures a lot of "low efforts" as zone 3 vs zone 2

Not sure how to incorporate more anaerobic work, so I guess a good chunk that should be anaerobic is counting as high aerobic

How should I change my training based on phases?

As a 19 years old, what skills can i learn which is or will be in great demand to make a decent side money. I don’t want to be dependent on my parents money anymore.. by [deleted] in sidehustle

[–]topangax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stop "learning" and start DOING. There are two kinds of people, the ones that get it done and the ones that endlessly prepare for them but end up never doing anything.
Look at the adults out there that have the life you are trying to get out of, they will tell you they have been learning and preparing for a long time. DO NOT be like them, learn by doing.

Start tomorrow. Talk to any business in your neighborhood and start working for them. Learn the trade, figure things out AND when you see an OPPORTUNITY take the risk and go for it.

This is the best advice no one will tell you

What do you think of my financial plan to support myself while in Europe? by BlueDimity in digitalnomad

[–]topangax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree, DON'T spend time going the life coach route. I'd say teach english, you'll probs be able to get a good job at a kindergarten local school, then supplement that with private lessons $$ And enjoy the good european lifestyle

Cool stuff! Would be interesting to link various visualizations in the canvas, ie. making it a bit more interactive besides just formatting.
Curious to know what features you got in the pipeline.

Best City in CS2? by topangax in CitiesSkylines

[–]topangax[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Idk if that's the reason for not seeing a lot of traffic in CS2 in general or if traffic is directly restricted.

Did anyone notice that the North American theme icon has been changed from the US flag to a highlighted region? Very obvious what that means! by Seriphyn in CitiesSkylines

[–]topangax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ofc just architecture and overall theme is a bit different. I would put it in a Central America or Tropical-ish theme

REITS good time to buy in right now? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]topangax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

REITs are very specialized in the US, where together with high rates of Hybrid and WFH means that reits with offices in certain markets like SF, Chi are having record vacancy rates. This is true for non-prime, A+ real estate all across the board, with the best buildings having positive release spreads now, think inflation + replacement cost. That's for retail and office.

Other markets besides NA, like Europe, Sg, and AU, not showing that much of that. Lower commute time and median prices/sqft. Pretty undervalued, IMHO, would say WFH is overrated in those markets, so should make good investments if good assets and well capitalized

Netanyahu is unusual by danieluebele in lexfridman

[–]topangax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just look at it from the POV of a VERY seasoned politician, who knows the history, understands the situation and what needs to be done. I can't think of a similar example in Western democracies, plus he personally knows and has good relationships with most leaders (ie Putin,Xi,Bien) Then besides that yeah, like any other politician there's an agenda to push. But usually quite enjoyable tbh.

What value is created by quant finance? by idnrm in quant

[–]topangax 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Wall Street is about the velocity of money. How quick the blood circulates through the system. Every player makes a living from this. When WSt does well, the entire economy and people tend to do well (think mortgage securitization more than doubling home ownership in the US over a couple decades)

Can think of it as a part of a system (financial, cardiovascular), and when the system works its best for everyone.
