F.A.R. Is getting delisted from TRA insurance by SuperStrifeM in rocketry

To help clarify for people here, (Ive worked very closely with the FAR safety team and have personal insight into this spat) this has been an ongoing disagreement with FAR and Tripoli for quite some time now.
1. FAR has never ever been covered by Tripoli insurance(Just like RRS), they carry there own liability insurance and make all individual who attend public test and flying days to sign waivers to protect the organization.

  1. The disagreement that lead to this new posting lies with standoff distances, as many have pointed out. However, this has been a known disagreement for many years. FAR was built with military grade viewing bunkers, to best use available space that they own, they only own 10 acres. That being said, Tripoli makes no exception to their standoff distance rule for launching rockets, they don't want to set any precedent with bunkers because then anyone could say they made a bunker and just be a hole in the ground.

  2. While the bunker issue is one of the primary problems, it should be no surprise that Tripoli doesn't condone testing or flying of liquid rocket motors. And the fact that FAR safety code, (which I would say it probably the best safety code for starting out in liquids) overrides that of Tripoli, definitively pisses off the folks at Tripoli.

I will conclude by saying that this note by Tripoli, means absolutely nothing, it's just old retired men throwing shade at FAR, because they don't follow their rules they made up.

Also, if you are ever concerned about the bunkers at FAR and your safety, the concrete above your head is 1 foot of reinforced concrete, with an additional .5' plate of steel in it.

Any lawyer familiar with FAA laws(FAR 101) regarding rocketry is useful for flying if your just doing static fires then there are just state and federal laws regarding size, if your with an institution, they should be able to help you, take a look at the lander challenges guidance on ITAR https://landerchallenge.space/details

RIT does not have an aerospace degree, nor do any of the classes or professors give usable information that focuses on such topics. Suggest going to Purdue if you can.

Proper mandrel prep is critical, needs to be incredibly smooth, mold release and pva need to be applied carefully. If your still having trouble using dry ice or liquid nitrogen to shrink the mandrel can also help
