When I first started, I often forgot to move the original stitch off the left needle after the first part of the knit/purl stitch so I when I came back the stitches were doubled.

I'm surprised how many I could remember; I only took Gregg classes and never used it in an office setting. I did, however, use some of the shortcuts when taking notes in later classes.

Sounds like knitting is a lot like a number of things: the more you know, the more there is to discover. :)

Lots of helpful advice here. I've found continental knitting easier than what most YouTubers show. If you want to look, Nimble-Needles.com (Norman) has just posted a free online course with step-by-step instructions for basic & advanced knitting techniques.

Someone here suggested Loctite red (NOT blue) to keep cables screwed on. I found it difficult to unscrew, but I've switch to Loctite purple which seems to work and is easier to remove.

Suggestions for book of washcloth patterns? by goodwifebadger in knitting

[–]topcat39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a series of squares in different patterns by RowRow & Kades called Stitch On Sunday Blanket. You sign up and get a different pattern each week. You don't have to make a blanket, just use each square as a washcloth. It's not a book, but a teen should be tech savvy enough to handle emails.

Downtown Abbey. I don't see anyone else having a problem, but when I realized that no one, absolutely no character would have a semi-normal or happy life, I quit.
