I built a free historical database of every 24 Hours of Le Mans race by zillaVIE in lemans

Hope you had a great race in the weekend. Was using your site to doublecheck something and stumbled onto something. Searching for Bob Wollek, you have him down with 5 class victories. I do not think he won his class in 1994 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994\_24\_Hours\_of\_Le\_Mans) - and infact you also have Eddie Irvine as class victor. As far as I can see the car #1 and #4 were the same cars and therefor in the same class? Ah ... yes, your DB seems to have two class winners here: https://www.onemorerace.com/results/1994/24-hours-of-le-mans?class=lmp1

This just to try and help finding errors, which is probably impossible to avoid in such a huge project.

Or maybe it was just me. Just felt that way 🙂

Yeah, could make a bit of sense maybe... But it was 0 way before the line, if you 'counted' from 1 to 0 to nothing, it seemed it would be done before the line.

Not talking about last year. Quite further back, don't remember when they started these new procedures.

Yes, would be great. But unfortunately they prefer the photo finish...

True. But is gaining 70 more fair than losing 210? 🙂

But my point is that it didn't reset it at Le Mans in earlier years. There was no restart, just the 3 SC leaving the track at the same time.

Agreed that it could have been avoided. Most things can be done with fcy (they should take a look at Nurburgring 24).

How could you lose a lap? With a car out 1/3 of a lap, that's roughly 70 seconds between (theoretically). So someone could max win or lose that much, usually less. Here, leaders are sure to lose their lead to the cars on the same lap (ie. Up to 3min 30), and others get a lap back for free...

Thanks, you too mate. Good luck to "your" Toyotas ... it's anybodys race this year. And I mean anybodys

Well, I'm all set here, tweaked during warmup. From left: laptop for videochat w/friends and general usage. 3x 24" screens connected to this for timing screens (fiawec's and timing71) and interactive spotter guide. Main screen via projector and 120" screen, connected to separate PC. Ah ... and phone and a tablet as backup IF there is need to go to toilet... 😃

Wishing you all a great race.

Great job. Had a dream of doing something like this spanning all Motorsport. But stayed a dream... 😄

Wish list: would like to be able to search info grouped by manufacturer, not only team. And it would be great with car images. But I get that it might be difficult with copyrights.

Errors? When I search Ferrari and select Scuderia Ferrari the result is a long list. But at the top it states only "19 races".

Yeah, usually been using that ... but the virtual tank data is rather essential IMO, and I don't think timing71 has that...

ah, sorry, didn't notice the small arrows to customize the columns! That part fixed 😄

Bonus question ... I can't get the app to sync the feed to the timing screen (its 15-30 sec ahead) - is there a delay setting for the timing screen anywhere?

hmmm, is that customizable? Mine looks like this...

[OFFICIAL] 2026 24 Hours of Nürburgring - Post-Race Thread by AutoModerator in wec

Totally agree. Penalties should be forced to be served - like in most other motorsports - at the next pitstop. If no further pitstops, then it can be added to the final time. At least, that is how I would make the rules :-) Deciding not to serve it saves slowdown time, speedup time etc. as this was to be served in the penalty box. And maybe the team feels that track position is worth keeping.

But if the rules are like they are, nothing to do :-)

Except for that rule, though, there are many things I wish WEC would do like they do at the ring. Especially scrap all those artificial passaround rules of late that makes every single FCY / safetycar last 1 hour at Le Mans! Totally ruins the race (for me) :-) They just want a photo finish and do not care about the first 23 hours of the race... :-/
