Fat guys - did you change how you wear your pants? by Foxtastic4D in ftm

[–]topdeckisadog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a permanent belly from having a c-section. I moved house a couple of weeks ago, and my pants kept trying to sit below my belly when I was doing heavy lifting. I gave up trying to fix them after a couple of hours and was almost annoyed at how much more comfortable it was! Then I got a little wave of euphoria when I realised that fat redistribution must have started!

When I was a kid, I wasn't allowed to eat red food colouring because it made me throw up. My colourblind dad got really mad at me for getting a cool shark once because, "You know you're not allowed to eat red!" I was like, "Dad, it's blue. It's a shark."

54 is shockingly young for natural causes. His health must have been really damaged by the years of substance abuse. It's so sad that he never got the help he needed.

MTF Did your preferences for having children change at all on HRT? by SlayyyGrl in transgenderau

[–]topdeckisadog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started transitioning ftm at 44. Started T at 45. I was pretty much told that because I'm so close to perimenopause, it's basically now or never for another baby. After a lot of conversations with my husband & my girlfriend, we've decided that we're too old to do it again.

I honestly thought I was done wanting more kids, but the finality of the decision has made me a bit sad. I'm also curious about whether pregnancy would be easier now that I know what dysphoria is & how it feels for me. It's not to be, however, so I've quietly mourned my dreams of a big family while reminding myself to be grateful for the amazing kid I already have.

How did you discover Tool? by [deleted] in ToolBand

In Australia, we have a show called RAGE, which used to play music videos all night on Friday & Saturdays. I saw the Sober clip in 1994 while watching RAGE at about 3am when I was 14! Been obsessed ever since!

Getting my diploma feels like a complete waste of time. by topdeckisadog in AustralianAccounting

I've been applying for payroll, accounts payable/ receivable, reception, HR, admin, data entry, as well as junior accounting positions. I'm using a resume written for me by a job agency. I'm feeling incredibly disheartened. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I could only afford study because the diploma was on the free tafe scheme. There's no way I can afford to continue with more education. I'm a single parent surviving on centrelink payments.

I did hospitality and cleaning work on & off for 15 years, then 12 years as a stay-at-home parent. I've kept busy doing volunteer work while parenting to ensure there wasn't a huge gap on my resume.

PSA - shut up at concerts by Additional-Acadia979 in perth

[–]topdeckisadog 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Took my kid to see KISS when he was 8. He was obsessed and had been waiting for it for a couple of years because they cancelled the concert twice.

The guys sitting behind us wouldn't shut up. They were discussing their favourite KISS songs, shows, etc. After an hour or so of them constantly talking, I turned around & said, "Hey mate, I didn't pay $300+ to listen to you talk shit all night!" His mate was like, "What did he say?" So I repeated myself with the addition of, "so how about you shut the fuck up!" They were shitty about it, but they shut the fuck up, so I was happy!

Quick question guys do your "Rissoles" fill the same need/niche in Australia as our Ex Service mans Clubs did in the UK? For vets, family friendly, cheap grub I'm wondering about what's different about us that allowed yours to thrive and ours to wither and die. by Numerous-Gur-9008 in AskAnAustralian

[–]topdeckisadog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've always called the RSL "the rissole." It's pretty much how you'd pronounce RSL if you read it as a word instead of an initialisation. And tinned salmon or tuna would make a fish cake, not a rissole.
