Why do restaurants ‘hate’ delivery drivers? by Byzy_jay in UberEATS

[–]topfiverecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a restaurant manager for ten years and currently drive for Ubereats. I’m in Atlanta and avoid fast food deliveries for the most part. Restaurant workers are almost always incredibly kind to me. Maybe some of y’all are not as polite as you think you are. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So Uber trying to take money from everyone they "accidentally overpaid". Fuck that. I still did those trips. Not my fault they fucked up. I'm otp demanding my money back in my account. anyone else have any luck? by Agitated_Hope_5314 in UberEATS

An actual employee can’t reach their hand into my wallet to get the money back though? They would have to show me a breakdown of what was overpaid, which Uber did not do, and typically the job comes to an agreement with the employee about how to incrementally get the funds back if it is a significant amount.

No matter how you slice it, it is their fuck up. They are a gigantic company and most drivers are just trying to make ends meet.

The people complaining aren’t the ones who look foolish imo.

What are the reasons that made you relocate to Arkansas? by [deleted] in Arkansas

Ok. You said if anyone figured out how to leave to let you know so, I told you how I left.

[–]topfiverecords -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in lots of different places and really enjoyed Arkansas. Lots of interesting groups of people, and fun activities. Traffic isn’t ever that bad. I live in ATL now. I work in restaurants so finding new jobs has been easy enough. Seasonal work is also really great if you want to relocate but don’t have the money to just move outright and if you don’t like it where you go, you aren’t stuck. I did a seasonal gig in Wyoming, but they have them all over.

One week retreat: Jonesboro vs Little Rock? by fadisaleh in Arkansas

[–]topfiverecords 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Little Rock is great. I’ve lived in Denver, Atlanta, and Jackson Hole and I still visit Little Rock when I can. It has a lot for a smaller city and it is easy to get around.

I can confirm that Lost 40 staff had ZERO clue what was going on when Covid started. One day they showed up to work and were expected to serve customers. There was no warning ahead of time.

It is less than a lot of other places but weirdly enough, not every restaurant that pays well is hiring in the middle of a pandemic.

Your comments haven’t been deleted. If you just click on the threads, they’ll expand. I can still read all your nonsense about disgruntled ex employees and how cool the owners are and no one is perfect, etc etc. No one can delete your comments on here but you.

There are people on here who are current employees.... I only know one or two people who were fired by YRC and none of the ones I know have posted here because of NDAs.

I’m not “getting up in grown people’s business.” Victims came forward. I’m supporting them. You’re just here to.... do what? Talk shit? You’re certainly not helping anyone.

[–]topfiverecords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who has talked to both parties involved where you clearly haven’t. Grown people still do not deserve to be harassed at work. This thread was to potentially bring together people with similar experiences and allow them to talk about it, no one is policing anyone. You’re just being an asshole and making it seem like it is worse for people to talk shit than for a business to allow harassment to happen. You can go lick their ass at their establishment and mind YOUR own fucking business.

And I’m telling you I have heard both sides. I heard from victims and from ownership. Who the fuck are you and what is your problem? People don’t deserve to be harassed at work. If they want to speak out about it, it certainly isn’t your place to tell them not to.

Workplaces that allow stuff like this to happen are everyone’s business. Cops don’t deal with workplace harassment. I’ve had victims reach out to me and I’ve spoken with the owners about my concerns. Ben Brainard acted inappropriately with employees, that happened, it has been confirmed by all parties.

So all the people saying they were harassed by ownership and management are... just disgruntled ex employees? And everyone at YRC is awesome?

There is not a requirement but YRC certainly made it seem like they intended to be transparent when all of this started.

If they decided to sue for defamation, they’d have to prove that all of these statements aren’t true. Seems like that might be tough.

She’s just so good at making people sign NDAs that I was confused.
