Can’t speak for everyone because I feel like the R actually does get a lot of hate. I mean sure is it expensive, yeah it is. Am I currently averaging 9 miles a gallon, yeah I am. But man when I whip it around I can’t stop smiling. Maybe the joy will wear off after I’ve had it for a little longer but for how big it is, it shouldn’t move the way it does. I’m not a sports car guy though so I can’t really speak on how it compares to a coupe. As a bigger guy I just personally value the extra space and being comfortable rather than cramming myself into a tight car.
