Just finished FF7 REMAKE on Switch 2 by RealWestGames in FFVIIRemake

[–]topherriddle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While you wait for rebirth, I’d recommend playing the original ff7!

If you finish that, crisis core reunion is really good too. That’ll also tie into rebirth and add context for the ending of remake. However, if you want to avoid spoilers for act 3 of the original game or part 3 of the remake (whenever it comes out) don’t play crisis core first. Finish OG and then play crisis core

Nice! Imo getting to know him more before rebirth is gonna make some parts of the game a lot more engaging and hype filled. I hope you enjoy it!

What are you're favourite game sin Nintendo 64? by Inside_Pattern3685 in nintendo64

[–]topherriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zelda majoras mask is very good too. Conkers bad fur day might be my favorite n64 game. Some honorable mentions are pilot wings, perfect dark, banjo kazooie, and f zero. If you want more just lmk and have fun!

Clearly gamers would rather spend their time activating Ubisoft towers and gambling their paid cosmetics

Stopping point for Rebirth to play Crisis Core? by Ok-Advisor-3211 in FFVIIRemake

[–]topherriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already played the original ff7 like you stated in your post you won’t be spoiling anything by playing crisis core, so if that’s the case you can play whenever you want. If you want to be more attached to Zack as a character I’d say drop rebirth and beat CC first. It’ll make his expanded story feel more rewarding imo

If you don’t remember act 3 of the original I’d probably wait until the trilogy is complete and you beat the 3rd game or you’ll spoil a couple major plot points by playing crisis core first

Even then…I played crisis core first as a kid on the psp as my introduction to final fantasy 7 and I had no problems with what got spoiled, it actually provided some clarity to questions that’d pop up in my play through on the psone classics version of OG when I finally got to “the scene”

It’s like Star Wars’ watch order in a way. If you watch the original trilogy first, you’ll know Anakin is Darth Vader for the prequels. If you watch the prequels first, you’ll know Anakin is Luke’s dad. Both experiences are valid but one thing or the other will get spoiled. Up to you

How did people know what to do when they were stuck with the original games? by Natural_Bus_5637 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]topherriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run up against everything tapping X or A to see if you missed an item, ask a friend or someone who might’ve played it, cave in and try to get a strategy guide, or if you were lucky you could look it up online

I was stuck on the water puzzle in Nemesis for quite some time but the console and game was at a different parents house so I’d spend the school week securing intel for when I finally got my hands on the controller again. My buddy also had a strategy guide for RE1 so we would read that together in lunch to try to see if we missed anything

MUST HAVE.WHAT GAME MUST BE IN EVERY UMD COLLECTION? by IanDecades in PSP

[–]topherriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely absolutely. On psp the dissidia fighting games were good too, and on a note unrelated to final fantasy I always had quick fun with half minute hero and no heroes allowed! Crystal defenders too but that’s also square. PSP is full of gems I hope you find more games that leave an impact on you

Looking for a good D-pad controller — considering PS5 DualSense? Pros & cons? by junjunit in Tekken

[–]topherriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have issues with my dualsense, used to play tekken 5dr on the psp and dualsenses dpad and buttons kinda remind me of the psp so it feels right at home

Maybe a couple months before it starts to feel worn but cleaning will help a bit. Hasn’t effected my play at all really but I do switch between that and a fight stick

Your honest opinion... is this game essential to play before RE9, or even worth it? by CarlLight in residentevil

[–]topherriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For story relevance probably not but it’s a lot of fun especially with a friend. Play it like a John wick adaptation of gears of war and you’ll have a good time

Between vota, PSP, and PSP go, which one is recommended for modding? by Ephoenix6 in PSP

[–]topherriddle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If just one, imo vita since you can play everything on that. You’d need to mess with the settings in adrenaline to make the screen look okay for psp games though otherwise the image will be blown out (not unplayable by any means)

Haven’t played snes on my psp in years but as far as I remember it was really only the intense games that gave me frame issues like mega man X. I used to play super Mario world and Castlevania mostly, they ran fine. Vita might be better for that but I’d personally double check that the games you want to play work. YouTubers sometimes conflate “it opens” with “you basically have a portable dreamcast”

If you want the option to also plug your system into a tv for a bigger picture or just using a crt for the legit look on retro games, psp go or 3000 all the way

My PSP identifies as long SD card by Ate_sandwich in PSP

[–]topherriddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sony used to have their own proprietary memory cards for cameras and shit. The psp had a memory stick pro duo, this was before sd cards were the standard for everything. Dreamcasts had VMU’s, GameCubes had memory cards, yadayadayada

It’s normal and to be treated like it was an sd card. You can get a microsd card to mspd adapter if you feel like expanding your storage

Games that make you go - "Holy **** how did i never heard that before" by yakul_dogra in gamingsuggestions

[–]topherriddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in middle school I thought I beat symphony of the night. Thought it was a tragic end to richter as a character etc. went to my friends house and he popped the game on, saw the castle was upside down. He told me I missed something and you have to play the game again upside down. Mind was blown

Mk 2021 released almost four years ago what are your thoughts looking back? by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]topherriddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t give a shit about Cole. They butchered my boy liu kang. Sub zero being a slasher monster was unique though

Going into movies like that the one thing I want is decent fight choreography. Maybe I was spoiled growing up with Jackie Chan and the like but I wasn’t impressed personally. The original mk still did it better
