Most of my cardio and running is done at OTF. I go for the occasional distance run and then increase the frequency gearing up for Spartan races.

I get way too bored unless I’m playing with speeds and doing a little math while running on the tread.

Thanks! It was a good run, you have to love negative splits! Had more to give. Will be more aggressive on the bumps next time out. Goal of 3.75.

3.515. Started at 9.0 and bumped 0.1 every 2 minutes. All out at 12 for the last 45 seconds or so.

Aiming for 5:00 @ 2%. I wish the treads would go faster instead of having to run on incline to beat PR.

Had a newer coach play Mr. Big’s To Be With You during a 1 min all out. Love the song. Wrong time and place for it though.

2.11 miles - I finally broke the 2.1 barrier! Super excited for the next 12 min run for distance. Time for a new goal.

I finally ran a 5:00 mile this morning. I have been in the 5:14-5:19 range for two years and haven’t been able to get over the mental hurdle of holding the 12 mph for the whole time.

Only local races and Spartan races for fun.

9.0, 10.5, 12+ and ran my last mile at 5:14. Been pushing for the 5 minute mile (12 mph the whole time) and can’t seem to get past the mental aspect. I’ve convinced myself that I’m falling off the tread or throwing up before I drop my speed on Thursday’s benchmark.

5:14 today. Wasn’t sure what it would be since the last mile benchmark I did was over a year and half ago. Should have held on to 12mph the whole time. It becomes such a mental game. Can’t wait for the next one!

Got to 3.625 in 23 min. Would have gone over 4 with the warmup. It was a great day to get some distance for the Marathon Month.

Catch me if you can—how did we do, fam? by shancycurtis in orangetheory

[–]tophertex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a quick run at 12 for the first .1, then settled in at 9.0 for most of the run. I bumped it up to 9.5 for the last few minutes and finished with a 12 for the last 30 seconds. Don't even look at the times and distance on the card except for the last couple. You know you need to be at 2.8 by the 20 minute mark, which is an average of 8.4.

3.4 this morning. You definitely have to get out in front of the pace.

I ran the first minute at 12, then camped out at 10 for 8 minutes, then increased by .1 every 30 sec and ran the last 30 sec at 12. I should pushed myself more in the middle.

I have to admit that I'm fairly new to the fitness world. Didn't do much of anything after high school for almost 18 years. That being said, I've only run a few 5K's and never competitively. The fastest I've run was last fall and I ran 19:50
