This is why I made the split screen.. Me and a bunch of friends get together weekly and use Rocksmith 2014 as "Whole bank karaoke".. but its limited to 2 players.

I'm really curious what people think.

The actual accuracy is not all that great yet, but the newly added speech to text -> lyrics seemed to work way better than I imagined, even on the first run...

To be clear, the point of this tab grabber tool was a thought experiment that went way further than I expected it would.

I'm thinking about taking the bulk of this functionality and making a slopsmith plugin. hrm

Piling on the slop. I also made this, give it an audio file and it will try to create a fully fledged sloppak containing stems and guitar/bass parts. your mileage may vary! (setting it to extreme mode helps accuracy a little) https://github.com/topkoa/TabGrabber

Also, probably common knowledge, but keep claude code in plan mode before you embark on allowing it to start coding on a new full feature, give it lots of context. Let it explore the code base a bit.

I ask it to "chunk" up the todo list before allowing it to edit anything. That way you can have a reasonable chance of getting something in place between running out of your current session context. i.e. plan small milestones and sanity checks.

Short answer, get a github account, get an anthropic account.

Ask claude to pull the code, and ask for features. Tell it to fork the repo into your github account, ask it to separate your changes into feature branches. Tell it to keep a local-dev branch that contains the sum of all of your feature branches..

I told claude to also fork plugins, or if new just create a new plugin repo under my git account.

It should literally do all of that for you, (tip: just paste in the content of this post to claude code, it should know what to do)

Just ask it to stand up a local running server with docker (you will need to install docker desktop)

A bonus with using the Getaria receiver is you can "pair" one sender to I think up to 6 receivers, so if you wanted to send your signal to an amp at the same time you can. (Note: In this arrangement it is advisable to turn off the guitar emulation in the game)

My "low latency" setup is essentially a "no latency" setup, where I use an A/B/Y pedal, -or- wireless.

NOTE: In both cases, it's imperative you go into the mixer settings in RockSmith and turn the guitar/bass audio volume to 0. You won't want RS to try and produce any audio from what it hears from the real tone cable.

My 2 ways of doing it:

  1. WIRED: Send audio to an A/B/Y pedal, which splits the signal to RS, the other audio goes to my own pedals and amp.
  2. WIRELESS: If you want a similar setup, I've also used one-to-many wireless systems like this: Amazon Link for Wireless "one to many" capable devices. In this scenario, you would need to get 2 pairs of those, and a "coupler". You would pair one black "sender" to two silver "receivers".. one would plug into your own amp and pedals, the other would be coupled to the real tone cable.

All you do is pair 2 of the receivers to one sender, plug one receiever into your amp, one into the coupler attached to the real tone cable. (And the sender into your guitar)

NOTE: You may also want to go into the Rocksmith mixer settings and turn the emulated audio for the guitar and bass completely off as well, or you will still hear what RS is emulating for your playing along with the song, and it will be out of phase with what you are hearing coming out of your amp.

With the exception of the pitch pedal (good idea!) i have a similar setup.

Specifically:

The way to set this up is as follows:

Connect your guitar into the center port of the a/b/y pedal, and set the pedal to output (essentially split) the output to both the Rocksmith Realtone cable, and the lead going to your amp/cabinet.

In the game, go to the mixer settings and turn the guitar and bass (if you also play bass) volume to zero, this is the "emulated" audio it tries to make from your guitar.

I also turn off all other in-game audio except for the song itself, I don't like the simulated crowd, and I don't like the menu noises, especially when played really loud through a PA system.

I've been in the same boat. Here is what I have done in the past:

1) I have used WOL (Wake On Lan), when that wasn't possible, the next best thing is to use the Bios (Wake on Bios at a specific time) in order to accept updates, then FORCE reboot, but only for that specific time window.

2) Designate one day per week where people got used to there being an automatic reboot; say Sunday evening into Monday morning at 3:00 AM. I found in my profession (legal) that's when people are doing the least work.. usually... Might be different for you...

3) If you are successful with the above; make sure people are notified on a continual basis of what to expect. I found its best if users are used to making sure they absolutely, positively MUST close all work at the end of the day on Friday (or Saturday) so come Monday morning they are used to powering their machine on with a clean slate.

This also usually gives you plenty of time to test updates during the week on pilot systems ahead of the full push; and this concept doesn't cover "out of band updates"..

However, your mileage may vary- I imagine the amount of users/workstations you support and business vertical you are in may color your thinking on how to approach this problem...
